New Speculation On Setting For Jon Favreau’s Star Wars TV Series
According to Making Star Wars, new speculation about Jon Favreau’s upcoming Star Wars TV series suggests that it will be set on Mandalore three years after the fall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi. The rumors suggest that Mandalore will fall into turmoil and the series will be about the restoration of the planet to its former glory, as how Mandalore ends up will have “huge galactic ramifications.”
Another rumor suggests that the effects will be shown in monitor during filming, thanks to technology from ILMxLAB. This will allow the production team to know if they got the shot they needed immediately. Previously, only pre-visual work was used for Star Wars. This won’t affect the budget, as a recent report from the New York Times said the episodes will cost “one hundred million for ten episodes.”
Favreau is currently working on The Lion King for Disney and production is likely to start after that. The series will have all new characters, as previously rumored Mandalorians Jango and Boba Fett weren’t originally seen that way by George Lucas.
