Noah Hawley Says He Talked With Kevin Feige About Doctor Doom Film
Legion creator Noah Hawley has met with Marvel’s Kevin Feige about his Doctor Doom movie, but don’t get overly excited yet. Hawley told THR at SXSW that he met with Feige recently but that he didn’t end up with any answers about the film’s status.
According to Hawley, Feige asked him about the script for the film, “Are you still working on it?” Hawley said he asked whether he should be, but Feige didn’t have any real answers for him. He joked that Feige wouldn’t reveal the “thousand-year plan” for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to him.
The comments aren’t incredibly surprising, as Disney and Fox’s merger hasn’t closed and won’t until likely next week and thus any official conversations can’t be had. Hawley said at SXSW that he sees the film as more of a geopolitical thriller more than a typical superhero film, with his vision for it starting with Doom putting a dome over Latveria and then inviting a female journalist to be his voice to the world.
