Salem’s Lot Adaptation Gets 2022 Release Date

The latest adaptation of Stephen King’s vampire classic Salem’s Lot has an release date set for a year from now. New Line has announced (per Deadline that the Gary Dauberman-directed film will arrive on September 9th, 2022.
The film will star Lewis Pullman as Ben Mears, Bill Camp as Matthew Burke, Makenzie Leigh as Susan Norton, Spencer Treat Clark as Mike Ryerson, and Alfre Woodard as Dr. Cody. William Sadler is also set to star in the film, which Dauberman (It) is also writing with James Wan producing.
The film is based on the 1975 horror novel in which author Ben Mears returns to the small, isolated town of Jerusalem’s Lot to write a book about a house that has haunted him since childhood. Once there, he finds his hometown infested with vampires and must lead a group to fight them.
The film was previously adapted into a miniseries in 1979 from director Tobe Hooper, which had a follow-up film. A second miniseries was released in 2004.
