A Series of Unfortunate Events Will End After Third Season

Neil Patrick Harris, the star and producer of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, confirmed to TV Guide that the show will end after the previously announced third season. Harris plays Count Olaf on the show, the evil guardian of orphans Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire. The Hollywood Reporter adds that Netflix always planned to run the show for three seasons.

Season one adapted the first four novels of the thirteen-book series, while season two will cover books five through nine. That means that the third season will cover the last four books. Season two debuts on March 30, but a final season premiere date hasn’t been revealed. Season two was announced two months after the first season ended, with a third season renewal not long after.
