Showrunners Tapped For It Prequel Series Welcome to Derry

HBO Max has found its showrunners for the It prequel series Welcome to Derry. Variety reports that Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) and Brad Caleb Kane (Tokyo Vice) will serve as co-showrunners on the series, which comes from It director and producer Andy and Barbara Muschietti. Development on the series was first reported back in March.

The teleplay for the first episode of the series was written by Fuchs based on a story he wrote along with the Muschiettis. Plot details on the series are not yet known, though it is expected to go into the history of Derry where Pennywise reigned for centuries.

Fuchs and Kane will executive produce the series along with the Muschiettis. Andy is being considered to direct the series premiere. There is no production start date or premiere date currently set for the show, which HBO Max has given a series production commitment to.
