Texas Chainsaw Massacre Sequel Gets MPAA Rating
In the least surprising news of the week, Fede Alvarez’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel will be rated R. The MPAA has issued an R rating for the film, giving it the old Texas Chainsaw chestnut of “Strong bloody horror violence and gore, and language” as its reasoning.
The film is produced by Alvarez and is directed by David Blue Garcia for Legendary Pictures. Chris Thomas Devlin wrote the film, which stars Elsie Fisher, Sarah Yarkin, Mark Burnham, Moe Dunford, Olwen Fouéré, Alice Krige, Jacob Latimore, Nell Hudson, Jessica Allain, Sam Douglas, William Hope, and Jolyon Coy.
The film does not have a release date set beyong 2021. It will be a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s original, with Fouéré playing original film character (and Final Girl) Sally Hardesty.
