Variety reports that production has shut down for two weeks on The Batman due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Warner Bros. made the decision after Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson got the virus while filming Elvis Presley in Australia. The Batman has been filming in a sound stage in London since January, and it was planned for it to move to Liverpool. Warner Bros. decided to go on hiatus while the crew changes locations. It’s unknown when the shoot was scheduled to end or if this will affect the June 25, 2021 release date. The film stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis.

Warner Bros. currently has two other films in production, The Matrix 4 and King Richard. The former is shooting in Berlin on a soundstage (where safety precautions were taken). King Richard, starring Will Smith, already had production delayed due to bad weather in Los Angeles. It’s unknown when or if production will halt on either film. Other films that have halted production include Jurassic World: Dominion, Flint Stong and The Man From Toronto.
