Two South Park Movies To Hit Paramount+ Before End of Year
Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s massive South Park deal includes movies, and the first two of those will arrive on Paramount+ this year. As reported early last month, Parker & Stone signed a $900 million deal with ViacomCBS which included a six-season renewal of the main show as well as 14 South Park films for the streaming service.
And now, we know that the first two will arrive before New Year’s Day as ViacomCBS Streaming Chief Programming Officer Tanya Giles revealed during the service’s Television TCA press panel (per ComicBook.com).
Giles confirmed that the plan is for two South Park films will release a year through 2027, including this year. The movies are expected to be similar to the “Pandemic Special” as opposed to the theatrically-released South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
In the meantime, South Park’s 24th season is currently in development.
