TVLine reports that USA Network has ordered a new drama pilot for Erase, a series from creator Denis Leary. It will be a crime thriller with “darkly comedic undertones.” Leary will also star and executive produce with co-creator Alex Cary and Jim Serpico. If it goes to series, it will be his first major TV show since FX cancelled Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll in 2016.

Here’s a synopsis: Erase follows Donal O’Neal, a corrupt former police officer who decides he’s going to go clean and bring down his dirty superior officers. But he starts having trouble doing so when his photographic memory, which is his biggest advantage in the undertaking, becomes compromised by the symptoms of early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease.

USA has also ordered pilots for Treadstone, a series about CIA sleeper agents from Heroes creator Tim Kring; Dare Me based on Megan Abbot’s novel of the same name; and Briarpatch, a crime thriller based on the Ross Thomas novel.
