WandaVision Creator Matt Shakman to Direct Next Star Trek Film

Fresh off WandaVision garnering 23 Emmy nominations, its creator Matt Shakman is set to direct the next Star Trek movie. Deadline reports that Shakman has signed on to direct the as-yet-untitled film for Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot.

The film is currently gearing up and will begin production in spring of 2022. The script comes from Lindsey Beer (The Magic Order) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel). Previous drafts were done by Mark L. Smith for the long-rumored film by Quentin Tarantino, as well as Noah Hawley.

Plot details are not yet revealed for the new film, nor whether it will use the reboot cast or even the Original Series characters.
