Warner Bros. Sets 2023 Release Date For Blue Beetle

DC’s Blue Beetle will hit theaters in 2023, with a release date now made official. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has set an August 18th, 2023 for the superhero film.

The film will be directed by Angel Manuel Soto from a script by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. It will focus on Jamie Reyes, the third Blue Beetle who was created by Keith Giffen, John ROgers, and Cully Hamner. Jamie received the Blue Beetle scarab after stumbling upon it on his way home from school and having it attach to him, giving him an extraterrestrial armor with the superpowers of the Blue Beetle.

The film was previously reported to be heading to HBO Max, but that no longer appears to be the case.
