Which Movie Trailer Won the Week: IT Chapter 2, Jay & Silent Bob, More
Ah! There’s nothing like San Diego Comic-Con week. Even if you’re not there, news, rumors, surprise guests, and movie trailers will flood your timeline. In fact, the impact of Comic-Con is so great, some of the most talked about trailers didn’t even happen there.
Some studios are smart enough to know that fans are online and will jump on any release or tidbit thrown their way. It’s the circle of life.
So far we’ve gotten some pretty solid trailer offerings, which we’re about to take a peek at. Which ones got your attention and why?
Let’s start with Top Gun: Maverick. The long rumored sequel to the 80s hit finally got made and flying into theaters next summer. It’s looks amazing, with Tom Cruise returning as Maverick with Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, and Jon Hamm joining the cast.
Next up is It: Chapter 2. The kids are grown up and ready to tangle once again with Pennywise in this sequel, starring Bill Hader and Jessica Chastain. This looks sure to pick up the same vibe and horror of the first.
Switching gears we get Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. The plot has Jay and Silent Bob returning to Hollywood to stop a reboot of Bluntman and Chronic from getting made. This one is pretty easy to review. If you enjoy Kevin Smith movies, you’ll enjoy this. If you don’t, I’m not sure this will change your mind.
Which brings us to Cats. Yes, I know it didn’t make its debut at Comic-Con but it certainly made an impression. Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Broadway blockbuster gets the CGI update and…I’m still not sure how to accurately describe what I’m seeing.
I’m sure by the time you read this a slew of other movie trailers will have hit so still mention them below.
