This is the last show ROH held in the Murphy Rec Centre so there are video packages throughout the tape.

Colt Cabana is ready for the 4-way!

Dan Maff is in New Jersey recovering from being kicked in the head by Low-Ki. (Which occurred at Bitter Friends Stiffer Enemies) He talks about how at GBH1 he had a hatred for The Carnage Crew and now he has a hatred for Low Ki.

Memories from the Murphy Rec….Low Ki v. Christopher Daniels v. American Dragon from Era of Honor Begins

A video package is here to catch us up on everything going on in ROH. Nice touch.

Jimmy Rave (0-1) v. BJ Whitmer (0-0) in a Field of Honor Group B match

Whitmer takes him down. Rave reverses into a hammerlock. Whitmer makes the ropes. Rave hammerlocks him, Whitmer elbows out and they trade wristlocks. Whitmer gets a fireman’s carry and holds onto the arm. Rave comes back with elbows but Whitmer gets a saito suplex for two. It should be noted that CM Punk is on commentary here and is ripping of Whitmer is funnier and more interesting then the whole match. Whitmer chops and forearms him for two. Whitmer chinlocks him as Punk keeps ripping on both guys. Whitner kills him with a clothesline for two. Whitmer smacks him and brainbusters him for two. Whitmer keeps kicking his ass. Rave works on the arm after Whitmer misses a blind charge. Whitmer comes back with a bridge dragon suplex for two. Rave chops and forearms him. Rave hits the divorce court and gets a running Shining Wizard to the floor. Rave hurricaranas him and he hooks a cross armbreaker. Whitmer breaks it and kicks him. Whitmer forearms and chops him. Rave blocks a discus forearm and gets an overhead suplex. Rave hits a Northern lights suplex into the apron. Whitmer then comes back with a top-rope powerbomb for the win. *1/4

Match was pretty boring and I don’t see why Whitmer had to finish with a highspot like that.

Whitmer cuts a promo about his win while AJ Styles bitches out a dazed Rave.

Samoa Joe cuts a promo about destiny. Corino approaches him kind of pissed that he has to fight Raven. Corino remind Joe that Corino is supposed to be the champ.

Memories from the Murphy Rec… Super Crazy v. Eddy Guerrero from Era of Honor Begins

Xavier (0-0) (w/Allison Danger) v. “Hurricane’ John Walters (0-1) in a Field of Honor Group A match

Lollipop comes out (from TNA) and Xavier tells Danger to go to the back.

Xavier and Walters battle on the mat in a stalemate. Lockup- Walters works on the arm. Walters takes him down and they continue to battle on the mat. They lock wrists- Xavier wins. Walters monkeyflips him but can’t break Xavier’s hold. Xavier rolls into a cross armbreaker. Xavier hammers away and chops him but Walters chops back. Walters hits a running clothesline. Xavier comes back with a belly to belly to the floor. Xavier hits him with a 450 to the floor. Back in- Xavier works him over and knees him in the head for two. Walters blocks a suplex and rolls him up for two. Walters forearms him and they botch a spot where Xavier was supposed to jump off the ropes onto him. Xavier hooks a camel clutch. Walters breaks but walks into an elbow. Walters crotches him and does his spot where he falls off the ropes with his knees in his back. They slug it out and Walters gets a backdrop. Walters spears him for two. They trade pin covers. Walters blocks Kiss Your X Goodbye and hits a Hurricane DDT for two. Xavier boots him and hits a neckbreaker for two. Walters hits a backbreaker for two. Xavier ballshots him and rolls him up for the win. **3/4

Walters tells Xavier that he doesn’t respect him. Xavier says he will meet him anytime.

Daniels thinks tonight is his destiny and it’s been building since Match. Corino shows up (in peace) and offers him a handshake. But you know- Daniels doesn’t shake hands.

Memories from the Murphy Rec…American Dragon v. Low-Ki from Round Robin Challenge

Teddy Hart v. TJ Wilson

Hart rolls him up for two. Wilson gets an armbar and goes to the headscissors as the commentators go over the Code of Honor. In a funny moment CM Punk goes off on Chris Lovey and warns him to never do that again in his match. Hart and Wilson battle on the mat. They trade forearms and Wilson kicks him. Wilson forearms him and hits a boot to the head. Wilson gets a running knee. Wilson forearms him and trips him up. He leglocks him and hooks a Boston crab. Hart hammers away but gets kicked in the face and kneed in the head. They fight over a suplex which Wilson wins. Punk is completely ignoring this match and just ripping into Terry Funk and I can’t say I blame him.

Punk: Terry Funk is the guy who quit on national TV! I don’t even remember who beat him that night.

Wilson superplexes him and chops his arm for two. Hart comes back with a DDT and hits a Shooting Star Press to put me out of my misery. Ѕ*

This match had no flow, no psychology and was just Wilson hitting a bunch of random spots before Teddy finally put him away. The match would’ve been better had it been a match to showcase Teddy rather then a match like Luger used to have on Nitro where the heel would control the whole time before he made a superman comeback.

Backstage Teddy gets into it with Special K. I guess they hated the match too.

Memories from the Murphy Rec…The Natural Born Sinners v. The Carnage Crew from Crowning a Champion

Steve Corino (w/Bobby Cruz, Guillotine LeGrande and Simply Luscious) v. Raven

To continue the Punk v. Raven feud, ROH decided to have Punk and Raven pick the others opponents for the night. Punk picked Steve Corino who wasn’t really happy about that. Raven picked Terry Funk. Corino has never beaten Raven.

Corino’s extended long winded ring intro tonight is people who Corino has defeated in his career. (Did you know Corino beat Doink the Clown)

They stare each other down. Lockup- Corino pushes him back. Corino headlocks him and takes him down. Corino gets another headlock and another takedown. Raven comes back with a headlock and takedown. Raven pushes him out of the ring and Corino stalls. Lockup- Raven forearms him and dumps him out. Raven boots him and dumps him. Raven then boots him and dumps him again and they brawl on the outside. Corino goes into the rail. Back in- Raven kicks him and suplexes him for two. Raven clubs him in the back. Corino boots him and chops and elbows. Corino works him over so Raven bails out. Corino chokes him but Raven fights back but gets thumbed in the eye. Corino knees him in the balls and gets a suplex for two. Corino whips him into a chair and kicks his ass on the outside. Back in- Corino chops him and hits a running forearm. Raven ducks a lariat and superkicks him for two. Raven hammers away and hits his signature spots: The discus clothsline, running clothesline and knee lift. Raven bulldogs him for two. Raven does his drop toehold on the chair. Simply Luscious runs in and Raven spanks her. Corino hooks a sleeper on Raven. The arm drops twice- not thrice. Raven breaks it and hits the Raven Effect…but CM Punk runs in and pulls the ref out at two. Back in- Corino gets a superkick for his first win over Raven. **1/4 Punk beats on Raven and then gets into it with Corino and gets slapped.

I don’t understand why they didn’t just make this a hardcore bloodbath since that’s what Raven does best. He’s pretty deteriorated as an actual worker but he’s at his best when he has gimmicks to play with. This was an okay inoffensive match but I just don’t understand why they didn’t give them some toys to play with.

Chris Sabin v. Colt Cabana v. AJ Styles v. Matt Stryker

Styles and Stryker start. Styles pushes him back. Styles with a waistlock but Stryker goes to the arm. Styles reverses. Stryker reverses. Sabin tags in. Sabin locks up with Styles and gets a waistlock but Styles gets on top. They battle on the mat and Cabana tags in. Cabana and Sabin go. Lockup- Cabana gets a headlock. Cabana takes him down and boots him. Cabana then dances. Lockup- Cabana gets a headlock and knocks him down. Sabin rolls him up and gets a hurricarana. Cabana dumps him on the apron. They fight there and Sabin falls outside. Cabana teases a dive but jumps off the apron onto Sabin. Styles baseball slides him but gets crossbodied by Stryker. Sabin dives onto everyone. Cabana misses a splash back in and everyone covers him. We go back to Cabana and Sabin. Styles ends that quickly by tagging in. Sabin manages to block the Styles Clash twice and boots him in the face. Sabin gets a forearm but eats a dropkick for two. Styles chops him and drops him on the knee. Cabana tags in and drops a knee on Sabin and suplexes him. Cabana with a forearm for two. Stryker tags in and powerslams Sabin for two. Stryker hooks a chinlock (Just tag out!) but Sabin elbows out. Sabin Germans him for two. Stryker tags Cabana. Cabana works Sabin over and stops him from tagging Styles. Cabana spits at Styles so Styles throws his gum at him. This sets CM Punk off and he once again becomes a lot more entertaining then the match. Cabana hits Sabin in the back and gets a top-rope neckbreaker. Sabin comes back and tags Styles in and Styles cleans house. Sabin enzuguris him and slams him to the mat. Stryker takes Sabin out. Stryker forearms Styles and chops him. Styles comes back but Stryker headlocks him. Styles kips up and gets a rana. Stryker throws him off and covers for two. Stryker tags Cabana. Cabana hits a Russian leg sweep and stretches him. Stryker is tagged in. Stryker stomps away at Styles and stretches him. Stryker with an uppercut and he covers him for two. Sabin tags in. Sabin with a Davey Boy suplex to Styles. Sabin hooks Styles in a submission hold. Cabana tags in and hammers away at Styles. Cabana hooks an abdominal stretch and we get the trademark 4-way submission spot. Styles then kicks ass by kicking Cabana and DDTing Sabin and Stryker. Stryker and Styles slug it out. Styles kills him with a clothesline. Cabana knees AJ but gets kneed by Sabin. Stryker takes out Sabin and Germans Styles. Stryker with a Thesz Press and he quebradas Cabana for two. Sabin hits Cabana with a reverse hurricarana for two. Styles gets a hurricarana bomb for two. Styles Germans Stryker. Stryker blocks a second one and hits a dragon suplex. Sabin gets dumped to the floor and Cabana hits Stryker with a Colt. 45 for the win.

This match just never seemed to get going as it was slow and methodical and not fast-paced like other 4-ways tend to be. Even the usual 4-way brawl that comes off the end just wasn’t as fun to watch as in other 4-ways. These guys just didn’t seem to click. **1/4

Maff is being updated on everything in New Jersey.

Memories from the Murphy Rec…Paul London v. Michael Shane in a street fight from Unscripted

Gary Michael Cappetta is with a very happy Colt Cabana. CM Punk interrupts to cut a promo on Raven and Terry Funk.

TAG TEAM GAUNLET to determine NEW ROH Tag Team Champions!!!!!

Hydro, Deranged and Angeldust v. The Carnage Crew

This is a 6-man tag and whomever wins drops one member and moves on. Why the Carnage Crew would volunteer to be first in a gauntlet series makes me question their intelligence.

A pier-6 brawl stars us off and the Carnage Crew clear the ring. They brawl on the outside. Credible dives onto everyone. Credible chops Angeldust and suplexes him 7 times. Take THAT Eddy Guerrero! Tag DeVito. DeVito crossfaces Angeldust. Tag Loc who suplexes him for two. Credible comes in and kisses Becky. Angeldust knocks him off the apron and Credible gets beaten down. Angeldust covers him for two as Credible becomes face-in-peril with Special K working him over. Deranged chinlocks Credible which gets a holy shit chant. Credible superkicks Deranged and makes the tag to Loc. Loc cleans house and DeVito comes in as well. DeVito powerbombs Angeldust but Credible stops the count because the Carnage Crew are the dumbest tag team ever. Special K runs in and get whipped with straps by the Carnage Crew for a DQ. Well that sucked.

The Briscoes v. Hydro and Deranged

The Briscoes beat on Special K. Deranged and Mark got for a bit. Jay kills Deranged with a clothesline but Hydro clotheslines him for two. Hydro powerbombs him twice. Mark comes in and chops Hydro. Mark clotheslines him and gets a springboard Ace Crusher. Deranged comes in and hits a Code Red for two. The Briscoes clean house and Jay hits a Jaydriller for the win. Too short to mean anything.

The Briscoes v. Dunn and Marcos

Dunn and Marcos get one move in before being squashed. Moving on…

The Briscoes v. Izzy and Dixie

Yay. More Special K. The Briscoes attack them to start and clean house. Jay backbreaks Dixie. Mark springboards in and superkicks Dixie. Mark enziguris him for two. Dixie thumbs his eye and tags Izzy. Izzy and Dixie work over Mark as Jay has to be held back. This allows Special K to interfere. Mark comes back with a crossbody but Izzy cuts off the tag. Mark soon is able to make the tag and Jay cleans house. Mark moonsaults Izzy but Dixie saves. Angeldust interferes and takes out Mark and Special K get the win. Best match so far but that isn’t saying much.

The Backseat Boys v. Izzy and Dixie to determine the new ROH Tag Champions

The Backseats double team Special K. Izzy gets powerbombed. Dixie gets spun around and dropped. Kashmere flies out onto Special K. Dixie throws Acid off the top and lariats Kashmere. The Backseats comeback and hit the Dream Sequence. Izzy springboards in to break. Izzy gets a reverse hurricarana for two. Special K double team Kashmere. Izzy gets a top-rope hurricarana on Acid . Special K go for the T-Gimmick on Acid but Kashmere saves. They hit the T-Gimmick and we have new tag team champions.

If you like short meaningless matches then this is for you! I give the whole thing about Ѕ*. ROH should’ve booked a tournament or just do a match with the Briscoes v. The Backseats.

Special K beatdown the Backseats but the Briscoes save. Teddy Hart then runs in and does a crazy dive onto everyone.

Memories from the Murphy Rec… Samoa Joe v. Low-Ki from Glory by Honor.

Homicide cuts a promo from Japan on Low-Ki.

Alexis Laree comes out for her farewell. She even gets streamered. The crowd chants ‘Please Don’t Go’ and she tears up. That was nice. Alexis thanks everyone and Special K comes out. Who do they think they are? Triple H? Special K corners her but Joey Matthews saves. Alexis kisses him so Joey clotheslines her. He’s about to chair her when Slugga comes out. Slugga turns on Special K and J-Train comes out. The Rottweilers clean house and somehow we get…

Alexis Laree v. Hijinx

J-Train is the referee. Hijinx gets some offence in but goes for an inverted DDT. Alexis reverses and hits one of her own for the win.

Jim Cornette cuts a promo about November 1st. The usual greatness from Cornette here.

CM Punk v. Terry Funk

Punk cuts a promo on Funker’s numerous retirements and on Funk himself.

Funk smacks him to start. Punk returns the favour. Lockup- Funk gives him a clean break. Lockup- Funk armdrags him. Funk rolls him up for two. Punk bails. Punk attacks him coming and chinlocks him. Funk rolls into a hammerlock. Punk goes into the ropes. Funk hammers away and neckbreaks him. Punk bails. Back in- Punk hammers away. Funk bails and they brawl on the outside. Punk then makes it a hardcore match (keep that in mind) and gets dumped into the crowd. Funk brings him back in and hammers away. Funk dumps him and chops him on the outside. Punk returns fire but meets guardrail. Funk chairs him. Punk rams him into the table and chairs him. Funk talks trash. Punk chairs him again and hammers away. They fight over a suplex and Funk suplexes him on the floor through a table. Funk rams him into a table. Funk misses a moonsault. Punk kicks at his knee as Funk curses at him. Funk hits a stunner but Punk hooks a figure four. Punk keeps taunting him. Funk turns it over and they roll into the ropes. Funk bails. Punk throws him back in and chairs his knee. Punk hooks the figure four again. Funk makes the ropes and blocks another figure four #3. Punk blocks a spinning toehold and goes back to the figure four. Funk makes the ropes and Punk goes to the you guessed it- figure four. The commentators are going crazy begging for the ref to stop the match and helping tell the story that is going on in the ring. Funk goes to the ropes. Punk won’t break it and gets DQed. Horrible ending to a really good match. Considering that Punk made it a hardcore match and Funker was seemingly okay with it- booking a DQ is just stupid. I assume they didn’t want to job either guy. ***1/4

Cabana runs in and pulls Punk off- but then beats on Funk. Raven saves. TOMMY DREAMER then runs in (a little late but we’ll let it slide) and allows Raven to DDT Cabana. Funk stuns Cabana for good measure.

Dreamer cuts a promo praising Funk and ROH.

I really liked the story the match told and Funk did an incredible job considering his age and condition and Punk did a great job of playing the vicious heel. The work wasn’t anything great but these guys are masterful storytellers and they sucked me into the match. I just wish they didn’t do the lame DQ finish as it made no sense and really hurt the match.

Memories from the Murphy Rec…AJ Styles v. American Dragon from All Star Extravaganza

Samoa Joe v. Christopher Daniels (w/Allison Danger) for the ROH World Title

At Glory by Honor 1 Daniels brought Joe into the company to be his enforcer of the Prophecy and take out Low Ki. Joe gave Low Ki a beating (which pleased Daniels) but then shook his hand. (which displeased Daniels). At All Star Extravaganza Joe and Daniels were partners in a six man tag. They were victorious but Joe again shook hands after the match which caused some dissension within the Prophecy. Joe soon jumped to Steve Corino’s Group which put him in direct conflict with the Prophecy and at Night of Champions he won the ROH Title from Prophecy member Xavier. At Epic Encounter Joe and Daniels got into a brawl. At Round Robin Challenge 2 Daniels attacked Joe after his title defence and laid him out with the Last Rites. At Do or Die Joe attacked Prophecy member Dan Maff and was challenged to an Empty Arena match by Daniels which was broken up by the locker room. At Night of Grudges Daniels and Joe were on opposite sides of a 6-man match that saw the Prophecy win and cause the Group to be disintegrated. At Wrath of the Racket Joe and Daniels got into it again when Joe saved Jim Cornette from a Daniels beating. At Bitter Friends Stiffer Enemies Christopher Daniels became #1 contender for the very first time by defeating fellow Prophecy member Xavier. Later that night he laid out Joe with Angels Wings. Will Daniels achieve his destiny of finally being ROH champion?

Joe kicks him for two. Joe chops him and kicks him. Joe hits a running forearm but Daniels comes back with two armdrags and a dropkick. Joe knocks him down and smacks him. Joe drops a knee for two. Joe kicks and chops him. Joe kicks him but walks into a leg lariat. Daniels gets a Russian leg sweep. Arabian press- two. Daniels forearms him but gets smacked. Joe chops him and facewashes him. Joe hits a backbreaker. Joe kicks him and hooks a Boston crab. Allison Danger tries to drag Daniels into the ropes but Joe is too strong and drags them both into the ring. Joe goes to kick Danger but Daniels knocks him to the outside and hits an Arabian press to the outside. Daniels chops him and sends him into the rail. Daniels goes for the Olay kick but Joe kicks his ass. You just don’t screw with another man’s Olay kick. Joe’s ready, he’s feeling it and it’s the last show in the Murphy Rec so it’s-

OLAY OLAY OLAY OLAY OLAY OLAY time. Joe even makes the ref clap for him. Since it’s a special occasion and Joe is the man we get-

OLAY OLAY OLAY OLAY OLAY OLAY kick NUMBER TWO!~ Oh man- I’m loving this match. Back in- Joe does the rolling cradles and gets two. Daniels goes for a suplex and then KILLS Joe with a release German. Daniels walks into a powerslam for two. Daniels comes back with two enziguris and an STO. Daniels tries to take him down and gets a Samoan drop- on a Samoan. Daniels gets a urinage and the Picture Perfect Moonsault…gets two. Joe hits him with an STO for two. Joe knees him and clotheslines him. Daniels drops him down and locks in a submission. Joe makes the ropes. Daniels elbows him and gets a Blue Thunder Driver for two. Daniels headbutts him in the corner and brings the palm strikes. Daniels blocks a muscle buster and hits a top-rope hurricarana. He hits the ANGEL’S WINGS!!!! 1….2….NO! That near fall was so close that the bell rings and the crowd is going crazy. But the match continues. Joe blocks the Last Rites and hooks a triangle choke but Daniels makes the ropes. Joe enziguiris him and hits the Island Driver for three. ****1/4 This should’ve been so much longer (and it was already 15 minutes) but this was great. The atmosphere and the crowd being hot gave this match an epic feel. The bit with the false bell ring was genius. Both guys worked their ass off and there was never a dull moment. The ending with Daniels doing everything he could to try and beat Joe but Joe just being too good was genius. A great great match and a great way to close out the Murphy Rec. Plus it had TWO Olay Olay kicks.

Memories from the Murphy Rec…. American Dragon v. Paul London from Epic Encounter.

Dan Maff (Still in NJ) cuts a promo on Low Ki.

The Carnage Crew are still mad at Special K.

The Backseats are very happy about being the champs.

Memories from the Murphy Rec…. Homicide v. Samoa Joe from Do or Die.

It’s time for Good Times Great Memories with Colt Cabana. J-Train is the first guest. J-Train sings and does his usual stuff and as usual for me: I don’t understand anything J-Train said.

Showcase card-

The Outcast Killahz v. Slyk Wagner Brown and April Hunter

Brown and Diabalo start with Brown controlling. Diabalo comes back but gets suplexed for two. Hunter is tagged in and gets a double axehandle and they get an intergender suplex. Hunter kicks him but gets clotheslined. Oman is tagged in but gets headscissored and Hunter kicks his ass. Diabalo knees from her behind. Hunter attacks and walks into Oman and becomes the face-in-peril. Hunter comes back and makes the hot tag to Brown who cleans house and it becomes a pier-5 brawl. Brown does a press sault onto Oman. Hunter comes and they do the corner 10 punches but Brown gets dumped out leaving the Outcast Killahz alone with April and they finish her soon after.

THE OUTCAST KILLAHZ WIN! THE OUTCAST KILLAHZ WIN! OMG OMG OMG OMG! THEY WON!

Okay…they beat a girl and the match sucked. But who cares? THEY WON!

Angeldust v. Joey Matthews

I actually took notes on this but it’s very boring and very slow and nothing much happens. Angeldust wins with a rollup using the ropes.

Roderick Strong v. Alex Shelley v. Jimmy Jacobs v. Josh Daniels

Strong and Daniels start. Strong with a headlock but Daniels armdrags him and controls on the mat. Strong chops him but gets knocked down by Daniels who works on the arm. Daniels armdrags him they face off. Jacobs and Shelley in. TIME TO HUSS!! They lock wrists. Shelley takes him down but Jacobs goes into a chinlock. Shelley goes to the arm. Jacobs bites him showing the power of HUSS! Lockup- Shelley gets a hammerlock and stretches him. Daniels tags in. Daniels kills Jacobs with chops. Chinlock- Daniels headscissors him. Jacobs reverses. Daniels gets in a headlock and knocks him down. Jacobs gets a hurricarana. Jacobs takes out Shelley. Daniels hits a back suplex to Jacobs for two. Tag Shelley. Shelley boots Jacobs. He teases the fans with a kick…and then chinlocks him. Shelley stretches him and Strong tags in. Strong chops him and hits a backbreaker. Daniels saves. Strong chops Jacobs. Jacobs tries to fight back. Strong kicks him in the back into the corner. Strong backbreaks him and stretches him. Shelley saves. Tag Daniels. Daniels suplexes Jacobs for two. Daniels stretches him but Jacobs reverse and the hold is broken. Daniels kills him with a clothesline. Shelley comes in. Shelley neckbreaks him and chops him to hell. Shelley hammers away. Jacobs boots him but Shelley hits a neckbrecker. Strong saves. Daniels comes in. Jacobs gets on Daniels’ shoulders. Shelley flies off the top but misses. Jacobs takes down Strong but he plants him into the mat. Shelley kicks Strong in the face. Strong crotches Shelley and kicks hin. Strong presses Jacobs onto Shelley. Daniels and Strong trade chops. Daniels Germans Strong and then suplexes him. Shelley takes Daniels down. Strong takes out Shelley. Jacobs off the top with a legdrop on both. We get a pier-4 brawl with everyone killing everyone and it’s way too hard to take down. In the chaos Jacobs uses THE POWER OF HUSS and boots Shelley for the win.

Now this was everything that the four corner survival in the main show should’ve been. It told a story and was just non stop action the whole way and by the time it got to the pier-4 brawl I couldn’t even keep up with everything. Great showing by 4 young ROH up and comers. ***1/2

The Bottom Line- The title match is awesome- the rest of the show is pretty blah. I loved the title match and Funk v. Punk told a good story but the rest of the card was uninspired and the tape went on forever. (It’s 5 hrs long) The 4-way in the Showcase card was a lot of fun but the rest of the card is too dull for me to recommend this one- especially since ROH made it go on forever with endless promos and I think this show proved that too much Special K is not a good thing.

Mild Recommendation to Avoid
