411’s LIVE Raw Coverage 08.08.05 | Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel: Eric Bischoff Hands Out Blame For Cena’s Win Last Week

August 8, 2005 | Posted by Alex Obal

Chris Jericho is here for the Highlight Reel! “Welcome to – Raw – IS – JERICHO!” Then the pyro goes off, and he realizes something. “And this is the highlight reel!”

One of the greatest performers in Raw history has the greatest GM in the history of sports entertainment in its entirety, his esteemed leader and close personal friend, Mr Eric Bischoff, as his guest tonight.

Jericho notes that it’s a pleasure to have Bischoff’s illustrious presence on the show one more time, and offers a handshake. Bischoff insists that the pleasure is his and hopes that the fans really enjoy the world premiere of the music video by John Cena, “Right Now,” which is coming up later tonight. But after Summerslam, the only thing John Cena is going to have in his life is his so-called music career. “And you know something else? John Cena is one lucky man. He is lucky that he i snot medically cleared to be in this arena tonight, becaus eafter the beating he took att the hands of Chris Jericho last week, this week would be even worse.”

Jericho agrees, but wants to take this a step further. “I too have made a music video, a world premiere music video, that I have made tonight, illustrating what happens when you mess with Chris Jericho, when you try and cross Eric Bischoff, yeah it ends up in a lot of pain.” So Jericho introduces his video on the obscenely, obtusely, OBESELY expensive Jeritron 5000.

Jericho beats down Cena to the tune of “To Kill A Stranger.”

Jericho calls it amazing and says it has MTV music award written all over it. It was the amazing music of Fozzy combined with the amazing talent of Y2J. “An I right?” “You are right.” Bischoff tells Jericho he knows how to keep a beat. But last week didn’t exactly go according to plan, because John Cena is still WWE Champion. But that’s because of one man, and Bischoff wants to order him down to the ring right now. CHAD PATTON, I want to see you in this ring. “Give the man some music, get him down here! He’s a WWE official!”

Referee Chad Patton walks down the aisle.

Bischoff asks him who the referee was last week. “It was Chris Jericho.” Bischoff calls it a good answer and asks him what the hell he was doing running in to count the three.

“Doing your job? You’re just doing your job?” Bischoff slaps him. Patton sells it hard. “What are you, some kind of a man all of a sudden? Step up and take a shot from the General manager, huh?” Two more slaps. [“You suck!”] “I’ll tell you what. Chad? I want an apology out of you.”

“I’m sorry.”

That’s not satisfactory. “You’re sorry. You’re sorry. It’s not quite goo denough. I don’t want you to be sorry, I want you to be punished. I want to make na example out of you. SO tonight, you ar egoing to be facing Chris Jericho, the future WWE Champion, in a very, very competitive match, right here in this very ring.” More slaps from Bischoff.

“But don’t worry, Chad. I’m gonna give you plenty of time to prepare.” Stretch out, warm up, hell, he’s got the next couple of minutes, because that match is next!
