411’s TNA Impact Report 6.21.07
-We see the Monster Abyss arrive.
-We get a video recap of the Slammiversary PPV.
-Tenay and West welcome us to the show. They discuss the Slammiversary PPV, which was a fine show kids.
-Jim Cornette is in the ring. There is no rest and we are on the path to Victory Road and he is here to announce the main event. He brings all of the TNA champions to the ring. Machismo makes his way to the ring first, followed by 3D and then finally Kurt Angle. Cornette says the main event at VR is a match of champions. It will be Angle and Machismo vs. 3D. All of the titles will be on the line, and if someone gets the win, he gets the title of the man that he pins. Cornette also says if one of 3D gets pinned, the man that got the pin gets BOTH tag titles and the chance pick his own partner to hold the titles with. Starting tonight, all of the titles will be defended. If you win, you keep the title and move onto the match. If you lose, you lose the titles and get replaced. Cornette asks if it is clear, and Angle has a question. With all due respect, he tells Cornette to pull his head from his ass. He wants to know where his celebration is, he is the new TNA champion, UNDISPUTED at that! He is insulted. If he were Sting there would have been a big party. He says Cornette doesn’t know what he is doing and tells him to leave. Angle has people to thank, crowd hates Angle. He has a list: Myself for all of my hard work, Myself for being great and on top of that; myself for putting TNA on the map. As far as the fans go, keep their support, you blow like the wind. You love me, you hate me. He asks for us to hate him because he hates us. He said when he needed our support, all he heard was “Joe’s gonna kill you.” Finally, he thanks the lord for giving the people a role model, him. Someone to live their dreams through. It’s real, it is damn real, thank you. Cornette is pissed and says he is sorry if he didn’t get the respect. But he is paid to be a wrestler. This is not charity, and that is what this is all about, competition. Cornette wants new blood, blood that doesn’t need their ego’s praised every week. If you are as good as you say you are, and then someone will take that title. Next week, you face two former champions. The hardest thing about being champion is keeping the title Kurt. Tonight, Machismo defends tonight against Chris Sabin and another former champion…SAMOA JOE!
-Back from commercial Borash hypes TNA Text deal and a former major star negotiating with TNA. Machismo joins him. Dutt is there meditating, and Machismo says he has a three way dance, but will leave champion. Dutt meditates more.
Roode attacks EY before the bell, he’s pissed. Off the ropes and a Thesz Press by EY and rights to Roode. Off the ropes and a knee by Storm and clothesline by Roode take EY down. Roode lays the boots to EY, back suplex connects and a cover for 2. Storm in and lays the boots to EY. Snap mare, and a knee drop gets 2. he kicks away at EY, Roode holds him and he fights out now, dives but cannot get the tag. Storm off the ropes and nails Roode as EY ducks. Rhino in now. Cleans house with shoulder blocks. Powerslam on Storm gets 2. Belly to belly on Storm. Jackie in the ring, Rhino tosses her away and he then eats a superkick by Storm and that is all.
Winners: Roode and Storm @ 2:30 via pin
-After the match he pours beer on Rhino, which pisses him off and he tosses EY down and starts to go wild by ripping the ringside area apart. MAN BEAST~!
-Back from commercial and Tenay talks us through Rhino’s temper tantrum. Cornette came out to calm Rhino, which did not work well. They hype Machismo’s first title defense. Talk then turns to JJ and his personal problems. They show the video package from Slammiversary. We see the interview, with JJ saying this is a big milestone for the company. He reminisces about TNA’s early days, including the Hogan deal. He talks about sitting with his dad and wife Jill and starting TNA. He gets very emotional and when discussing her and says she is the one that gave him the strength and encouragement and that is how he got through this all. She was his rock and she was a huge part of making TNA succeed. He discusses her battle with cancer. She was in pain all the time and on May 23rd she passed on. He will not come back until he is prepared, and being in a ring is the worst place for him right now. He thanks us for our support, and thanks us on behalf of Jill.
-Tenay says that it was an emotional response, and a very emotional package to watch.
-Back from commercial and Leticia is with Joe. He says it doesn’t matter who his opponents are as he grabs Leticia’s hand and she cries like a bitch. Kurt has pissed him off and Angle always says what he will do to people. Well tonight, Joe says he will take back his X Title, and if Angle wins, then he loses because he will have to deal with Joe. Until he does what he has to do, there will be no more interviews.
Raven attacks at the bell. They go to the floor, Russian Leg Sweep to the railing by Raven. Another. Back into the ring. Serotonin is out there, minus Kaz. Clothesline by Raven gets 2. Irish whip, clothesline and bulldog by Raven gets a cover for 2 follows. Thesz press by Harris, lefts and off the ropes and a lariat follows. Havoc nails Harris with a kendo stick, Leg sweep by Raven and Kaz runs out and takes out Serotonin and then dives in with a clothesline on Raven. Catatonic by Harris and that is all.
Winner: Chris Harris @ 2:30 via pin
-Backstage Christian is with AJ and Tomko, he banishes them. Cage is pissed because Harris cost him the title at Slammiversary. Well, Cage is a man who makes superstars. That is why people line up to get him autographs and pictures. You proved that you wanted to be that star by taking me out when I was at the top of the ladder. Well, if you want to make a name for yourself, fine. At some point we will put on a masterpiece, and you won’t like the way the story ends. Abyss shows up and scares Cage away.
-They brawl out to the ring now as Tenay and West talk. Abyss gets the barbed wire bat and Tomko and AJ are out for the save. Abyss fights them off, but Tomko fights back. He eats a boot and Abyss stands tall as Cage watches on from the ramp.
-Back form commercial and James Mitchell has a video package about the search for his new monster. Great promo work from Mitchell as always, he is coming…my son.
Hebner shows the belt around and Joe attacks! Jabs to Machismo, Machismo fires back and eats a knee. Joe just kills him with a flapjack and then nails Sabin with a back elbow. Face wash by Joe, dropkick by Machismo and nothing. Machismo and Sabin double dropkick Joe to the floor. Sabin and Machismo to the floor now, and Joe back in…ELBOW SUICIDA~! We head to a commercial @ 1:50.
Back from commercial @ 5:15 with Machismo giving Joe a boot. Joe then lays him out with the snap powerslam. Missile dropkick by Sabin. Yakuza by Sabin. Tree of woe on Machismo, Levitation Dropkick connects for 2. Joe in with chops. Powerbomb reversed and Joe escapes the pin. Atomic drop, yakuza and a senton splash for 2! Chops to Machismo, sets him up top, he fights and Joe head butts him. Joe up top now, they fight and Joe is down. Elbow drop stopped by Sabin, he is up top, Enziguri by Joe. MUSCLE BUSTA~! 1…2…3!

-Cornette is out and pays congrats to Joe. Next week Angle will defend against Christian Cage and Rhino!
-We get the closing video and that is the show.
