Aleister Black Eric Young NXT 42518

Tonight ~ Johnny Gargano gets a shot at Aleister Black and the NXT Title.

Undisputed Era come out. Adam Cole gets a microphone and brags about all the gold they have. He claims that NXT has made it their mission to prevent this from happening, but it has. Bobby Fish speaks next, saying they were thrown to the wolves at War Games and in New Orleans, but they’re always one step ahead. Roderick Strong goes next, to address why he turned on Pete Dunne. His buddies pat him on the back for it and he says he did something for himself for once by making the decision he did at TakeOver. He says Dunne would’ve eventually turned on him because he only cares about the UK Title, while the Undisputed Era are willing to take bullets for one another. He realized it during the Tag Team Title match and knows they can takeover NXT together. Kyle O’Reilly says they’re tired of being backed into a corner and they can’t be stopped. They’re leaving everyone else in the dust. Cole finishes off by saying he’s going to defend the title on his own, the same way he won it. He doesn’t need help with Oney Lorcan.

NXT North American Championship: Adam Cole [c]  vs. Oney Lorcan

Cole’s ribs are taped. The first grapple exchange ends with Cole going to the ropes. He hits a knee and a shoulder block, but stops to hold his ribs. Oney leap frogs over him and applies the abdominal stretch, but Cole scampers to the ropes. Cole takes a powder outside. He slides back in and eats a shoulder. Oney tries suplexing him to the outside, but Cole blocks and delivers an enziguri. He stomps on Oney in the corner. Ground and pound from Cole for a bit. He hits USHIGOROSHI, but falls to his knees because of his ribs. They trade shots. Oney wins out and hits stiff chops. A kitchen sink floors Cole. They trade more blows, with Cole hitting a boot. Oney suplexes him onto the top rope, hanging him out to dry. Oney goes up top, but the Undisputed Era come out with a trainer. O’Reilly throws up the “X” with his hands. On the other side of the ring, Strong drops Oney back first onto the apron. He runs over to Cole and tells him he’s okay. Cole is rolled back in and hits the Last Shot to retain.

Winner and still NXT North American Champion: Adam Cole in 5:51

Strong and O’Reilly jump Oney after the bell. Danny Burch rushes out to save his partner. He does well until eating a superkick from Cole.

A vignette runs to hype Shayna Baszler. She says the women’s division is a race for second because nobody is beating her.

Clips are shown of Candice LeRae’s win over Zelina Vega last week. Next week, Candice takes on Bianca Belair. That sets up a vignette to showcase Belair. The EST of NXT.

Heavy Machinery vs. Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli

This match again? Knight begins with Moss. My feed skips ahead and Tino is thrown outside, while Moss gets worked over. As Moss is in position for a slam, Tino leaps into one as well, for stereo slams. Heavy Machinery stand on their opponents and pose to “steaks and weights” chants. Otis takes out both opponents, but gets distracted and eats a back suplex from Moss. Tino and Riddick hit some tandem moves in the corner for two. Otis gets free and tags in Knight, who gets the rare hot tag. He runs right through Moss. Moss goes to tag out, but Tino hops off the apron and backs up the ramp to leave. That leaves Moss to fall to the Compacter.

Winners: Heavy Machinery in 4:01

Post-match, Heavy Machinery call out War Raiders for attacking them a few weeks ago. They’re coming for them.

A video package runs to hype the rest of the women’s division. They talk about Shayna. Nikki Cross says she’ll be the champion, Aliyah mentions something about Shayna riding some sort of coattails or something, while Kairi Sane says she knows Shayna’s weakness.

Dakota Kai is interviewed about an incident with Shayna Baszler at the Performance Center. She looks frightened and upset and says she doesn’t want to talk about it. Shayna enters the picture and Dakota cowers. Shayna demands she looks at her. She says that Dakota left her home country to chase her dreams, only to find a women’s division run by her is Dakota’s worst nightmare.

The Kona Reeves vignette runs again. He shows up next week.

The next women’s video package sees Lacey Evans say she’s been through worse than a bully before; Vanessa Borne say she could beat Shayna; and Candice LeRae say she has heart, which Shayna lacks.

Next week, the Street Profits take on TM61. Also, Pete Dunne faces Roderick Strong.

NXT Championship: Aleister Black [c] vs. Johnny Gargano

Johnny Gargano comes out for the match, only to get jumped from behind by Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa throws him over to the announce table and continues the beating. He stands on the table and looks for the Air Raid Crash. Gargano gets free and superkicks him. He leaps off the table with a cross body and continues the brawl. Ciampa kicks him away, but Gargano hops back on the ramp. They trade shots on the stage until Ciampa and his eye patch kick Gargano low. He charges and knees Gargano’s head into an LED screen. Officials comes out to prevent any further damage. Or so we think. Again, my stupid feed misses something as Gargano is laid out off the stage through some broken tables. Candice comes out to check on him as EMTs bring out a stretcher. As Johnny is being loaded into the ambulance, Aleister Black walks by. The ambulance drives off with the Garganos, and Ciampa is standing on top of a truck next to it waving goodbye.

Aleister Black walks out to the ring and gets on a microphone. It seems like he was going to call Ciampa his new competition, but the music of SAnitY interrupts him. No Nikki Cross. Eric Young says Gargano meant hope, but chaos took that away tonight. Out of the chaos, they will find greatness and sanity. Black shuts him up by asking if he was looking for the NXT Title and if so, they could do this right now.

NXT Championship: Aleister Black [c] vs. Eric Young w/ SAnitY

I apologize for not catching the table spot earlier. Young works a wristlock and Black fights out. Young takes him to the mat with a headlock. Black gets out with ar ollup for two. Young runs over with an elbow for one. Young remains in control, escapes a sleeper and runs into a kitchen sink. Quebrada pose spot from Black. Back inside, Black gets an arm drag and wrenches away for a bit. Black fires off some strikes and gets EY on top. Alexander Wolfe tries running in but eats an elbow. It allows Young to put Black in the hanging choke and adds an elbow for two. He throws some axe handles for another near fall. Young wears him down. The champ fights back and hits a boot. He rolls up Young for two but eats a forearm. He answers with a pump knee and both are down. More kicks from Black send Young to the mat. He sweeps him up and adds a running knee. Black rolls forward and kips up to a pop. Running corner forearm and springboard quebrada for two. Young comes close with another near fall and goes up for the flying elbow. Black crotches him and they fight towards the ground. Young escapes the apron by slipping under Black, but eats Black Mass.

Winner and Still NXT Champion: Aleister Black in 8:51

Wolfe runs in and takes a Black Mass. Killian Dain fights him a bit, but also takes one.
