411’s WWE Smackdown Report 11.27.09

> Still hungover from all that food and today’s epic UFL Championship game? No problem. This Smackdown review has all of the goodness you missed from the last Smackdown of November. I imagine you clicked this article to read the recap, so let‘s get straight to that.

> Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are again our announcers. They begin with discussion regarding the night’s festivities. That includes a number one contender’s match between Kane and Batista.

> Chris Jericho is out to start the show. Striker reminds us of the DX-Jerishow match scheduled for Tables, Ladders and Chairs. Jericho leads off with a bunch of large words, he then transitions into some TLC hype. Y2J pimps his TLC experience while pointing out that DX has never participated in such a match. He then goes into a rant about the lack of respect shown for him. Jericho wants to know why he isn’t in the number one contenders match.

This brings out the general manager, Teddy Long. Jericho says Long should give him whatever he wants. Long grants Jericho a non-title match with the Undertaker.

> It’s Cryme Tyme…time. Their opponents are The Hart Dynasty. They really need more tag teams. This match has happened at least twice since I started covering this show.

>>>MATCH ONE
Cryme Tyme versus The Hart Dynasty

Tyson Kidd and JTG start. They grapple. They trade counters for a bit until JTG takes Kidd down with a variation of a shoulder block. JTG delivers a dropkick to Kidd. Kidd fires back with a kick to the shins and tags in Smith. David Hart Smith immediately attacks with a kick. He follows that up with a backbreaker. Smith stomps on JTG and then slams him into the heel corner. Smith tags in Tyson Kidd and they double team JTG. Kidd pins JTG and gets a two.

After the pin, he locks in a reverse chinlock. JTG tries to escape but Kidd relinquishes the hold and takes JTG back into the heel corner. DH Smith is tagged in. Smith with a stalling vertical suplex and then a quick pinfall that gets two. He follows that up with some elbows and then locks JTG’s head. JTG tries to fight out but Smith keeps JTG in the corner. Smith tags Kidd in. Kidd whips JTG in the corner and attacks with punches. He tries another assault but JTG gets his feet up. JTG follows that up with a leg drop.

Both men tag in their partners. Quick clotheslines from Shad to Smith. Atomic drop is followed up by Shad slamming Smith to the floor. Shad goes upstairs and comes back down with a shoulder block. He pins Smith but Kidd breaks the count. Kidd throws JTG out of the ring but gets clotheslined out by Shad. DH Smith gets in and takes Shad out with a huge Saito Suplex that ends the match.

> We get taken to the back where we see the Bragging Rights trophy. John Morrison and Teddy Long talk about the Survivor Series match. Shortly after, the lovely Vickie Guerrero and her boyfriend, Eric Escobar, enter the scene. Vickie reminds us she’s the consultant to Teddy Long and that all ideas must be okay’d by her. She nominates Eric Essssssssscobar for a title shot. Long and Morrison berate Escobar’s catch phrase. Teddy says Escobar does not deserve the title shot. Vickie Guerrero threatens to call Vince McMahon so Teddy Long grants Eric Escobar the title shot.

> We see CM Punk walking backstage. He’s walking with a paper bag in hand.

> When we return, we are met with CM Punk’s entrance music. He’s coming out with a guest dressed in ridiculous camo pants. Punk is still with the brown paper bag. Punk discusses last week’s events. He extended a hand to us, the WWE Universe, in an intervention and R-Truth ruined it. Punk bashes drugs and all of that like always. He introduces us to one person he has helped. His name is Luke Gallos. Not sure on the spelling so we‘ll go with that. Gallos raises his left arm. Punk lets us know that Gallos is the artist formerly known as Festus. Festus’ friends gave him a pill and he got addicted. Shame on Slam Master Jay. Punk says he can help all of us like he helped Festus. Punk is going to continue helping those that cannot help themselves.

Punk says something scary and dangerous is going to be released on December 1st. It is a socially acceptable drug that will be acceptable all over the world. He calls it more dangerous than a carton of cigarettes. He takes Jeff Hardy’s DVD out of the paper bag and raises it. The fans cheer. Punk berates the DVD and Jeff Hardy’s lifestyle. Punk says the last chapter of the DVD is the most important; the cage match between Jeff Hardy and Punk that ended Jeff’s career. Punk wants us to just say no to the Jeff Hardy DVD. I agree.

But apparently Matt Hardy doesn’t. His music hits the arena and he makes his way to the ring. Hardy says that Punk forgot Jeff is a free spirit. Matt Hardy says that Punk was mad because Jeff didn’t follow his nonsense. Hardy and Punk trade some verbal barbs, Gallos leaves the ring and the ref rings the bell for the match to begin.

>>>MATCH TWO
Matt Hardy versus CM Punk.

Hardy ducks a Punk punch, kicks Punk and signals for the Twist of Fate. Punk squirms out and we go to a quick commercial.

We return with Hardy nailing Punk in the corner. CM Punk gets the best of Hardy and takes him down with a double-armed DDT. Pinfall gets a two count. CM Punk immediately works over the arm of Matt Hardy. Hardy gets to his feet and takes Punk into the corner. Hardy tries to attack with a shoulder block but Punk moves out of the way allowing Hardy to smash his shoulder in the turnbuckle. Punk rolls Hardy and gets a two count. Punk tries his springboard clothesline but Hardy counters with the Side Effect. Two count.

Hardy attacks with some blows to the head and takes Punk down with a clothesline. Another clothesline brings Punk down. Punk gets in the corner and Hardy attacks with his clothesline-bulldog combination. Pinfall gets two. Hardy climbs the turnbuckle and comes down with a leg drop. He signals for the Twist of Fate but Gallos attacks from behind causing the match to end in DQ.

> After the match, Gallos boots Hardy to the ground. Gallos takes out the neck of Matt Hardy in the ropes and then attacks him with a bunch of punches. Punk tells Gallos to get Hardy up and Punk takes him out with a spinning back kick. Gallos takes Hardy into the corner and Punk again tells him to hold him down. Punk attacks with his corner knee. Punk then attacks Matt Hardy with a bunch of elbows. Festus ends the segment with a variation power bomb.

> “No rest for the wicked,” says Matt Striker as another graphic for the Undertaker-Jericho match graces our screen.

> Raw promo that focuses on Sheamus and the Guest Host, Verne Troyer.

> WWE.com plug is followed up with a graphic letting us know about the Escobar-Morrison title match.

> Grisham and Striker discuss the rivalry going on between Mickie James and Michelle McCool.

> Josh Matthews is backstage to interview Mickie James. He wants to know how she feels about MC Cool’s attacks. James says the hurtful words will not cause her to leave the show. James says she worked hard to get to Smackdown.

> Graphic for the Batista-Kane match. Matt Striker almost makes me want to see the match.

> YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH. Batista time. Unlike his hometown, these fans are actually booing him.

>>>MATCH THREE
Kane versus Batista

They stare each other down. The staredown lasts for 15 seconds or so before Kane wraps his hand around Batista’s neck. Batista rolls out of the ring. He eventually takes Kane out with him and attacks him by the barrier. Kane uppercuts Batista and sends Batista back into the ring. Kane with a strike that sends Batista into the corner. Kane attacks before taking Batista down with a snapmare. After a dropkick to the downed Batista, Kane pins Batista for two.

Kane twists the arm of Batista and takes him into the corner. Batista knees his way out of Kane’s grasp and tries to smash Kane’s head on a turnbuckle. Kane lifts his boot to avoid the strike and slams Batista’s face against the turnbuckle. Kane delivers several punches before Batista strikes with an eye gouge. Batista sends his shoulder into the cornered Kane and takes down the Big Red Machine. Batista sends Kane into the corner and brings him down with a clothesline. Pinfall gets one.

Batista applies a chinlock to Kane. Kane eventually gets up to his feet and takes Batista into the corner. Kane tries a clothesline but Batista puts up an elbow to avoid. Batista whips Kane against the ropes and brings him to the ground with a forearm. Pinfall gets a one. Batista latches on another chinlock to Kane. This time he wraps his legs around Kane as well. Kane punches his way out of the hold and gets to his feet. Kane punches Batista and tries to whip him into the ropes. Batista reverses and sets up to flip Kane over. Unfortunately for him, Kane attacks with a kick. Kane again sets Batista up for a chokeslam, this time Batista grabs the ropes to avoid. Batista attacks Kane’s legs with a kick. Another kick is followed up with an attempt at the Batista Bomb. Kane flips Batista and boots him down. Kane gets Batista in power bomb position but Batista takes out Kane’s leg. Batista gets Kane in the corner and begins working over the left knee. This takes us to a commercial break.

We return with Batista having Kane locked in a half Boston Crab. Kane tries to reach the ropes but Batista pulls him to the center of the ring. Kane turns over on his back and kicks Batista off. Batista kicks the left leg of Kane. The Animal continues with attacks on Kane’s leg. He gets Kane up and they trade blows with Kane throwing punches and Batista throwing kicks to the left leg. Kane sends Batista into the corner and strikes with a clothesline. Visually bothered by the leg, he again delivers a clothesline. Kane tries a Tombstone but Batista gets out of it. He sends Kane into the corner and rushes him. Kane lifts up a Big Boot and takes Batista down. Pinfall gets a two.

Kane goes to the top rope as Matt Striker talks about the damage done to the left knee. Kane flies with his clothesline but Batista moves out of the way. Spear from Batista gets a two count. Batista tries to whip Kane into a corner but Kane positions Batista into a side walk slam. Pinfall gets two. Kane again decides to go up top. This time he connects with his diving clothesline. Kane motions for the chokeslam. Batista backs out of the way and into the corner. Kane goes after him but Batista slams his face into the top turnbuckle. Batista with a chop block and the thumbs down taunt. He tries a Batista Bomb but Kane again gets out of it. Kane chokeslams Batista. Pinfall only gets two when Batista gets his leg on the rope.

Batista rolls out of the ring and forces Kane to go after him. Kane gets near the Animal and Batista kicks the left knee. Batista tries to send Kane into the barricade but Kane reverses it and Batista gets sent through. Batista attacks Kane in the left knee with a chairshot that the ref misses. The ref’s count is at 8 and Batista gets back in the ring. Kane begins crawling back in but the ref reaches ten and Batista wins.

> Grisham and Striker discuss the TLC match between Batista and Taker.

> Tony Chimel instructs us to welcome the lovely Vickie Guerrero to the ring. The crowd boos for no good reason and she gets their attention by shouting “Excuse me!” She introduces us to the “Future Intercontinental Champion,” and Eric Escobar joins Vickie. The two walk to the ring. Matt Striker says John Morrison is in extreme jeopardy right now. John Morrison seems to have added some nice looking pyro to his entrance.

>>>MATCH FOUR
John Morrison© versus Eric Escobar
Intercontinental Championship Match

They grapple, Escobar goes behind and sends Morrison into the corner. They grapple again, this time with Morrison sending Escobar into the corner. Escobar goes after Morrison but the IC Champ ducks and sends Escobar out of the ring with a dropkick. Morrison kicks Escobar and then takes him out with a moonsault. Morrison sends Escobar back into the ring. He tries to get back in but Vickie distracts him. Escobar takes Morrison out with a baseball slide. Escobar slams the back of Morrison against the ring. He sends Morrison back into the ring and pins him for two.

Escobar attacks the head and back area of Morrison with some punches. He then locks in a bear hug. Morrison tries to punch his way out but Escobar stuns him with a punch. Eric Escobar delivers a back body drop and pins Morrison for two. Escobar sends Morrison into the ropes and strikes him in the back with a punch. He tries to do it again but Morrison punches Escobar before Escobar can punch him. Escobar kicks Morrison and tries to mount some offense. Morrison prevents that with a leg lariat. Morrison delivers several punches but Escobar gets him in the corner. Escobar delivers several shoulder blocks. Escobar tries another shoulder but Morrison gets out of the way and delivers a springboard dropkick. Morrison sets Escobar up for the Starship Pain and he hits it. Morrison wins.

> After the match, Vickie looks at Escobar in disgust. She screams at him for losing. She calls him a failure. She’s too good for him. She says they are through and slaps him.

> We come back from commercial with Eric Escobar chasing down Vickie. She says he makes her sick. He says she makes him sick. He talks about how sick it makes him to kiss her and stuff and the crowd kind of cheers. I guess insults are only bad if they’re given to Mickie James. He says some stuff in Spanish and leaves.

> Grisham and Striker set us up for the Raw Rebound.

> Batista joins the announcers on commentary and the show goes to a commercial.

> Back from break, Grisham congrats Batista on his win. Batista is unresponsive. The competitors make their entrances and the match starts.

>>>MATCH FIVE
The Undertaker versus Chris Jericho
Non-Title Match

Taker takes Jericho into the corner and attacks the head with some punches. He takes Jericho into another corner and does more of the same, this time staring down Batista. Taker wrenches the arm of Jericho and goes upstairs for Old School. It’s successful. Taker whips Jericho into the ropes and Jericho fires back with a kick to the head. Taker sends Jericho to the outside with a clothesline. Grisham sends us to a break as Taker stares down Batista.

Taker slams Jericho’s head against the turnbuckle when we return. He tries to send Jericho to the outside but Y2J holds onto the ropes and lays on the ring apron. This allows Taker to deliver a leg drop. Batista gets to his feet and shares a staredown with the Undertaker. The Animal smiles and sits back in his chair. Taker gives his attention back to Chris Jericho and Jericho takes Taker out with a dropkick. Jericho joins Taker on the outside and begins kicks his head against the ring steps. Jericho sends Taker back into the ring and continues his attack. Jericho chokes Taker with the rope and begins striking Taker with his fists. He gets Taker into the corner but Taker punches his way into the driver’s seat. Taker sends Jericho into the corner but Jericho stuns him with an elbow. Jericho goes upstairs and comes down with a dropkick. Pinfall gets two.

Jericho latches on a chinlock. We see a camera shot of Batista staring down Taker. The Undertaker gets to his knees and punches his way out of the hold. Taker tries to attack Jericho but Jericho responds with a dropkick. Pinfall gets two. Jericho pins Taker again and it gets another two count. Jericho with another chinlock. Taker gets to his feet and takes Jericho down with a side suplex. Jericho is up to his feet first and punches Taker. They trade blows until Jericho falls to the ground. Taker sends Jericho into the corner and attacks with a clothesline. Snake Eyes and a leg drop is followed up with a pinfall that gets two.

Taker gets up and motions for the Chokeslam. Jericho elbows his way out of Taker’s grasp and sends Taker into the corner. Bulldog from Jericho to Taker. Lionsault. Jericho poses and Taker does his Deadman situp deal. Taker delivers a chokeslam. He picks up Jericho and tries a Tombstone. Batista runs into the ring and stops the Tombstone with a Chopblock.

> Batista goes back outside and grabs a chair. Jericho takes Taker out with the Codebreaker. Jericho exits and Batista enters to attack Taker with the chair. He beats Batista down for like, a minute with the chair. Batista poses over the Undertaker to end the program.
