Kurt Angle jumped to Smackdown on the second show of the new year, winning the vacant World Championship in a battle royal.

On Raw, Daivari accidentally cost Angle a match with HBK.

The next week, Angle wrestled Daivari, but it was all a setup for an attack by Mark Henry.

Angle proceeded to beat MNM in a handicap match.

At the Royal Rumble, Angle pinned Mark Henry. After the match, The Undertaker made the ring collapse. Taker and Angle had a face off the following week on Smackdown.
