Sambus’ AEW Collision Review 11.15.25
Good evening friends and 411 family! It’s Theo Sambus on hand as usual for your Saturday night dose of AEW action. And of course we are all still reeling from Blood & Guts this past Wednesday on Dynamite – what a blast it was! I was particularly enamored with the finishing stretch of the Men’s Blood & Guts match, smartly harking back to the O’Reilly/Moxley Dynamite match last month where Moxley had to cause a DQ finish to escape O’Reilly’s submission prowess, which of course he couldn’t do in the cage.
Tonight we have the fallout of Blood & Guts, notable in the fact that Mark Briscoe is in action just days after that brutal affair, taking on the Don Callis Family’s Mark Davis a week before he faces Fletcher for the TNT title.
Fletcher himself is in action defending said TNT title against Scorpio Sky, which is easily Sky’s biggest opportunity since returning to action. Should be neat to see what he’s capable of in that spot.
We’ve also got an ALL-STAR 8-man tag team contest set, pitting FTR & LFI’s Sammy Guevara and RUSH against JetSpeed, Bandido & Juice Robinson, plus Hyan & Maya World return to Collision to face Alex Windsor & Riho. WILL THEY GET MORE THAN 3 MINUTES?! Big questions answered on Collision…now!
Location: Erie, PA
Venue: Erie Insurance Arena
Commentators: Nigel McGuinness & Tony Schiavone
*We are LIVE from Erie, heading straight to ringside with Matt Menard joining Tony & Nigel on commentary for the opening contest. But first, we recap both Blood & Guts matches.
*And now, here come the Death Riders for trios action. Garcia smacks the headset off Menard as he makes his entrance…and Menard gets into it with him! They go blow for blow until Pac and Yuta pull Garcia off him and medical staff tend to Menard.
Jay Lethal, Tommy Billington & Adam Priest vs The Death Riders (Daniel Garcia, Pac, & Wheeler Yuta)
Garcia tries to attack early but Priest takes him down and the bell rings. Dropkick to the face, Pac in and Priest tags out to Lethal. Arm drag and a dropkick as Jon Moxley now joins commentary in Menard’s place. Billington in for a double back elbow and a suplex to Garcia. Double team back suplex with Priest after he tags in, snap suplex and a cover for 2. Yuta comes in illegally and knocks Priest out, Billington knocks him out in return, and both Billington and Garcia run the ropes until Yuta low bridges Billington to the floor.
Pac whips Billington into the barricade and snap suplexes him on the floor. Back in the ring, Yuta nails a senton and covers for 2. Garcia stomps away at Dynamite Kid, tags to Pac again who continues the assault. Yuta looks for a suplex but can’t get it so he bites the forehead instead. Quick tags from the Death Riders, running a clothesline train on Billington, eventually leading to Pac giving Billington a tombstone! He covers but Priest makes the save.
Yuta takes Billington to the top rope, goes for a superplex but Billington headbutts his way out of it. Diving dropkick connects! Kid looks for the tag but Garcia knocks Lethal and Priest off the apron. Kid with a crossbody to Garcia and both men roll to the floor. Kid finally makes the tag and Lethal is in, dragon screws to everyone. He goes for a figure four, gets kicked off but hits a Lethal Combination on Yuta. Figure four to Pac! Garcia in to rake the eyes. Boot to Priest, superkick to Pac, Lethal Injection but Pac pushes Priest into it! Brutalizer locked in on Lethal! Lethal gives the verbal tap.
Winners: Death Riders
Time: 10:52
Rating: **3/4 – Death Riders needed a pretty decisive win to rebound from the Blood & Guts loss, and they looked like a solid unit here. Not much offense from Lethal’s team but this served its purpose in a fine way.
*Pac takes the mic post-match and says he’s heard that Darby Allin isn’t here tonight. He’s not surprised, as what he did to Allin was bloody beautiful. He’s achieved a lot in pro wrestling, but standing there and watching Allin burn was his magnum opus. No doubt, if Darby is still alive he’ll want some revenge. Pac will be honest with him, that’s no skin off his ballsack. Pac vs Darby Allin? He’s game…sign it for Full Gear. Pac says Darby gets a chance at retribution, and he gets a chance to prove Darby doesn’t belong in the same ring as him. He’ll be waiting for Darby’s answer.
*Moxley says he’s going to hang out on commentary a little longer.
*Lexy Nair is with Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis backstage. Fletcher is sick of hearing about Mark Briscoe. At Full Gear, he puts him in his place. Tonight, Briscoe has to deal with Davis, who doesn’t think he’ll even make Full Gear. Fletcher says Scorpio Sky is unbeaten since returning, but the roll Fletcher is on is unstoppable so get ready to say his full name.
*Lexy Nair is now with Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, neither of whom are cleared to compete. Storm says 5 women forced her to watch a massacre. Do what you like to her, but when you touch the woman she loves, a woman who brings color to a black and white world…that doesn’t sit well. Storm says anytime, any place, the show must go on. Don’t ask God for mercy, he’s a big fan of their work.
Mark Davis vs Mark Briscoe
Davis meets Briscoe on the rampway, and whips him between the barricades. They get inside as the bell rings, head back out and Briscoe hits a blockbuster off the apron! Briscoe heads back to the apron, goes for the Cactus elbow but Davis is up to smack him in the mouth with a huge forearm. Release back suplex on the apron, and Davis tosses Briscoe into the barricade once more. They make their way back into the ring where Briscoe starts unleashing some Redneck Kung Fu. Davis meets Briscoe on the top rope…big time superplex connects! 1, 2, kickout.
Body slam and a senton, followed by kicks to the back from Davis. Another wild body slam and Davis sends Briscoe to the outside. Briscoe back in but gets met with a running back elbow. Abdominal stretch applied, Briscoe breaks free and looks for a hip toss, but Davis clotheslines him in response. Davis keeps wrist control as he chops Briscoe repeatedly, and Briscoe fires up! Chops and strikes from Briscoe now, shoulder block and a flying forearm. To their feet, both men trade chops with Briscoe building steam. Enziguri from Briscoe interrupts a German attempt. Small package, 1, 2, Davis kicks out. Fisherman’s buster! Briscoe heads to the top rope, Froggy Bow but Davis gets the knees up. Running lariat connects, 1, 2, no, Briscoe kicks out. Stump piledriver and Briscoe rolls to the floor. He sits by the barricade and Davis keeps the pressure on, hitting a running uppercut. Davis tosses a chair in the ring after Briscoe and brings another one in, but Briscoe cuts him off and sets up the chair…he nails the step-up tope con hilo to the outside!
Briscoeup top, dives but rolls through. Davis tosses him overhead and crotches him on the top rope. Briscoe crotches him in return, goes up top…Froggy Bow connects! 1, 2, 3.
Winner: Mark Briscoe
Time: 11:14
Rating: ***1/4 – Decent slugfest between these two, with Davis keeping a grounded pace throughout. I was expecting it to kick into a higher gear, but what we got was good nonetheless.
*SkyFlight are backstage, and Christopher Daniels gives Scorpio Sky some hype, saying it’s time for Sky to regain some gold. Sky says ever since he lost the TNT title, he’s been focused on getting it back. Fletcher is every bit as good as he thinks he is, but Sky has the experience. Defeat comes for us all, and tonight Fletcher’s comes from the sky. Nice little promo there!
*Backstage, cameras catch up with Josh Alexander who has an ankle lock applied to…someone! Alexander is directing this to Kenny Omega. Remember what happened to Ibushi? What do you think he’ll do for a million dollars? He attacks the knee and we see it is Michael Nakazawa.
*MxM TV make their way to the ring. Mansoor requests the slack-jawed troglodytes SHYYYYADUPPP! This is the MxM TV Casting Call. The only thing that will be ‘Erie’ is how ugly their opponents will be when they rearrange their face. Arkady Aura announces that tonight it’s a singles match…and it’s against Tay Melo.
Taya Valkyrie vs Tay Melo
Melo takes it straight to Taya, only for Valkyrie to turn the tables and hit the middle rope sliding German. Valkyrie drags her to the floor, grabs a kiss from Johnny TV, and Melo counters, whipping Taya into the steel steps. MxM TV help her to her feet as Melo climbs…diving swanton takes out Johnny and Mansoor. Pump kicks to Madden and Taya. Melo gets her in the Gory Special position and hits the Tay-KO, getting the easy 1, 2, 3.
Winner: Tay Melo
Time: 2:12
Rating: N/R – Simple squash before Melo and Anna Jay’s next tournament match. Poor Taya hardly got anything in there.
*Marina Shafir attacks Melo from behind post-match, locking in Mother’s Milk! But here comes TONI STORM for the save. Storm knocks Valkyrie down on her way to the ring, and hits Storm Zero on Shafir! Storm stands tall and heads to the back as Marina struggles to get back up.
*A reminder that this coming week’s Dynamite is a 3-hour special, with Collision making up the third hour as a go-home show for Full Gear.
[AEW TNT Championship] Kyle Fletcher vs Scorpio Sky (w/ Christopher Daniels)
No Don Callis tonight so Fletcher is on his own. Sky extends the hand, but Fletcher kicks it away. Fletcher begins to work over the arm in the early goings. Sky grabs Fletcher’s jacket and taunts him, with Fletcher taking the bait and now it’s Sky who focuses on the arm. Sky has an awkward landing and grabs the ankle…but he was playing opossum, rolling up Kyle for 2! Back elbow catches Fletcher and he rolls back outside, with Sky following him. Back suplex on the apron from Fletcher…and he takes out Daniels at ringside with a running boot!
Scorpio whips Kyle into the steel steps as Sky goes to check on Daniels and calls for medical help. Both men head back into the ring, where Fletcher catches him with a back elbow. Back suplex connects, 1, 2, no. Scoop slam from the champion as Fletcher grinds the pace down, talking trash to his opponent. Another scoop slam, chinlock applied, and a knee to the midsection for good measure. Sky wants more! Fletcher delivers a series of forearms but Sky fires back. He delivers mounted punches in the corner and then bites the forehead, clotheslining Fletcher to the floor. Slingshot to the outside, Kyle tries to powerbomb him but Sky steps onto the apron and hits a hurracanrana off the apron. Sky goes back in the ring, gets a run up and nails the tope con hilo. He sends Fletcher back in the ring, Sky Low connects! 1, 2, no.
Sky gets Fletcher on his shoulders, counter, DVD! Sky bites the fingers of Fletcher and hits a dragon screw. Fletcher kicks Sky, gets him on the apron and goes for the brainbuster but Sky escapes. Sky slingshots to the outside and drives Kyle headfirst into the apron! They kinda whiff on the impact but it looked impressive nonetheless. Back in, diving DDT from Sky, again hits a bit awkwardly. 1, 2, no. Big boot from Fletcher, Sky with a drop toe hold though and he locks in a single leg Boston crab. Fletcher makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Fletcher with a Michinoku Driver out of nowhere gets 2. Running boot in the corner, and the sheer drop brainbuster connects. 1, 2, 3.
Winner and STILL AEW TNT Champion: Kyle Fletcher
Time: 15:09
Rating: ***1/4 – They got some good time here and used it well, but a couple awkward moments held this back, and that finish felt like it came out of nowhere after Sky had been in control towards the end. But hey, it’s a decent bit of TV exposure for Scorpio Sky, and we can always do with more of that.
*Fletcher continues to attack after the bell as Mark Davis gets involved too but here come Top Flight along with Mark Briscoe to make the save. Briscoe takes a mic and says he will not be stopped. They tried to attack him on Wednesday but they still won Blood & Guts. Briscoe says next time Daddy Don has him shine his bald head up, shine that belt up and give it some hugs and kisses as that belt is coming home with Briscoe in one week.
Fletcher says his screws must be loose as the Family had nothing to do with attacking him on Wednesday. Fletcher is one title defence away from cementing his legacy as the greatest TNT champion of all time. And when that happens, there is a spot right next to him in the Don Callis Family, and there will be no choice but to say his full name.
*Anthony Bowens and Max Caster speak in a video package for the Tailgate Brawl next week. $200,000 dollars is not nearly enough for them to tag with each other. Juice Robinson says tonight he gives a preview of Tailgate Brawl. The Bang Bang Gang plays for keeps. Bryan Keith and Big Bill will put their New Jersey boys to work to get that money. The Outrunners know a thing or two about getting some tail, and even moreso about spending some money.
*Back from commercial, we focus on the commentary desk as Jon Moxley drinks his iDrinq.
*Mercedes Mone video package time, by the numbers. 23 title defences against 22 opponents. 12 championships from 9 countries. 30-1 AEW Singles record. Kris Statlander would be on 82 singles victories if she beats Mone at Full Gear.
*WINDSAHHHH! Women’s tag team action is next.
Alex Windsor & Riho vs Hyan & Maya World
Riho starts off against Hyan, sweeping the legs and hitting a dropkick. Running knee in the corner, and again but Hyan picks her up, only for Riho to roll through into a cover. Maya World in, tag to Windsor who unloads forearms. Tijeras is caught, Windsor goes for a sharpshooter but is shoved off. Riho tags in, assisted tijeras connects. Windsor assists Riho with a dropkick to Hyan. Riho springboards off the back of Windsor with a diving forearm. Windsor on the apron, canonball takes down both Hyan and World, and Riho is there for a diving crossbody to the outside.
World kicks Riho in the face, tags to Hyan, and they hit a double back elbow, Hyan following up with a senton for 2. Snapmare and knees from Hyan, Riho follows with a step up enziguri. Back suplex, Hyan covers, 1, 2, no. Tag to Maya who stomps Riho down in the corner. Quick tags as the stomps continue, body slam by World and a cover for 2. Rear chinlock applied, Riho manages to make the tag to Windsor who builds up speed. Maya and Windsor both attempt something with the other on their shoulders, Windsor hits a sort-of Blue Thunder but it didn’t have any height. Riho catches Hyan and holds her there as Windsor hits a modified faceplant DDT. German suplex from Riho. Crucifix driver by Riho, with Windsor giving the assist with a lariat. 1, 2, 3.
Winners: Alex Windsor & Riho
Time: 7:48
Rating: **1/4 – Pretty good synergy between Windsor and Riho which bodes well for their tournament match, although they tried to get a little cute once too often and it didn’t quite gel. Maya and Hyan got a fair bit of shine here which is pretty cool for them.
*Toni Storm on the screen congratulates them but wants to apologize in advance as they will rip of their heads and shit in their handbags in the tournament.
*Kyle O’Reilly speaks in the medical room after Blood & Guts. Jon Moxley is a shark, but once you sense a shark’s movements, he’s easy to defeat. He has a submission victory over Moxley, so any other time or place, prove him wrong.
*We got to Moxley at ringside for his reaction. Moxley takes off his headset and grabs a mic as the fans chant You Tapped Out. Moxley admits that the Conglomeration had the night of their lives on Wednesday. But O’Reilly is nothing like him, his team is nothing like Moxley’s team. O’Reilly wants a match? Can he do it again and again and again? He doesn’t need a million dollars to prove it. Moxley says any match, any time, any place, you know where you can find him. Moxley heads back to commentary to say something to Tony Schiavone before storming off.
*Lexy Nair catches up with Tay Melo, who respects Toni Storm but says she doesn’t want help unless she asks for it. As for Marina, the next time she puts her hands on Melo, she will find out that Melo has the solution to the ‘problem’.
[All-Star 8-man Tag] Juice Robinson, Bandido, & JetSpeed vs FTR & LFI (Sammy Guevara & RUSH)
Bandido and Dax to start, snap suplex from Dax and a short leg drop, tagging out to Cash. Back elbow from Bandido and he hits a sweet tornillo and a thrust kick, tagging in Mike Bailey. Rapid kicks to Wheeler, Cash turns the tables with a powerslam and a tag to Guevara. Sammy goes up top, looks as if he’ll do a big dive but then hops down in a fake out. Knight in, UFO splash, but here comes RUSH to double stomp Knight in the corner. Tranquilo! Powerslam to Knight and a tag out to Dax, but Knight comes back with a leaping lariat.
Juice is in, back elbow to Dax, back body drop to Cash, faceplant to Guevara. Side Russian legsweep to Dax, Juice is cleaning house. Jabs to both members of FTR and a meeting of the minds. Leg lariat and a spinebuster! RUSH comes in from nowhere and knocks Juice to the mat. Suplex reversed, thrust kick from Guevara. JetSpeed hit a double pump kick to Guevara. Bandido and Bailey with stereo moonsaults to the outside! Knight with a DDT, Juice covers Dax, 1, 2, no. Bailey tags himself in and heads to the floor with Dax. Dax gets kicked by eeeeeveryone but then sends Speedball into the ringpost. Dax rakes the eyes and sends him back in the ring, tagging in Guevara. Vertical suplex, stalling, it connects and Sammy covers for 2. Guevara up top once more, signals for a move, once again hops down but this time Bailey catches the leg. Enziguri from Guevara, runs into a big boot from Bailey and a missile dropkick. Bailey tries to make the tag, but FTR pull Bandido and Juice off the apron. Facebuster from Sammy connects, 1, 2, no.
Cash in, looks for a piledriver, Speedball counters, sunset flip attempt from Cash but Bailey is holding on…moonsault knees!! RUSH in, tag to Bandido! Bandido cleans house, beautiful tijeras on Dax, press slams Sammy into RUSH, and Bandido goes up top, frog splash connects. 1, 2, no! RUSH suplexes Bandido in from the apron, covers, but everyone breaks it up. The heel team stand tall now, 4 on 1 as Bandido struggles to his feet. Bandido takes them all on! FTR get pulled to the outside, Sammy goes flying and now we are left with RUSH and Bandido. They square off, RUSH tosses Bandido overhead in a biel into the corner. Bandido up, German! RUSH with a German in return. Pop-up facebuster, heads collide with a desperation headbutt from RUSH and both men go down. Diving moonsault to the outside from Sammy, leaping lariat from Knight, Cash with a Gory Special into the apron, tornado kick from Bailey, this is going wild now. Dax has Bailey on the apron, trying to suplex him to the floor. Bailey picks the leg, moonsault knees but Dax moves and Bailey lands knee first on the edge of the apron!
RUSH rolls up Bandido, gets pushed into FTR! 21-Plex, and that’s enough for the 1, 2, 3!
Winners: Juice Robinson, Bandido, & JetSpeed
Time: 14:37
Rating: ***1/2 – We often joke about/lament the overuse of the All-Star 8-man tags, but they are more often than not a ton of fun. That was no different here with this combination, although Guevara’s shtick with him pretending to go for a big top rope move is a little…lame? The RUSH-Bandido sequence was particularly great here and I NEED them to get like 20 minutes on PPV. ROH Final Battle is coming up, just sayin’!
*Red Velvet vs Mercedes Mone, ROH Women’s World TV Championship Unification match is signed for Dynamite, plus TayJay vs Bayne & Shafir in the tag title tournament.
*Pac vs Darby Allin is signed for Full Gear too…so I guess Darby didn’t need to accept it himself?
*Juice, Bandido and JetSpeed celebrate their victory as we go off the air. I’ll see you all next week right here on 411 for our live Full Gear coverage. Woop woop! Have a great week, folks.
