AJ Styles Hints At Retiring In A Couple of Years

– AJ Styles and Drew McIntyre were interviewed by 97.9 The Box in Houston this week to promote WWE’s events tonight (NXT Takeover: Wargames) and tomorrow (Survivor Series). Styles spoke about his wrestling style, saying that it “sucks” trying to maintain it, which gets harder with age.
He said: “The older you get, the less energy you have to maintain it!. It is what it is, but if you still have that drive and you can still do it, why not? Get in the gym and get it done, and look good in the meantime.”
Styles also hinted that he may retire in the next couple of years. He was asked if his family is angry with how much time he’s on the road. He said he’s been married for 17 years and his wife has been mad at him the whole time. He spoke about his four children and having to discipline them over the phone, which he said will change “in a couple of years.”
He added: “Work hard now, you enjoy it later. In a couple of years, I’ll be able to catch every football game, every baseball game, every basketball game, cheerleading, gymnastics, whatever they’re in.”
When the hosts said they don’t want him to retire, he said: “Man, I’m 40 years old!”
