Arn Anderson Believed To Have Not Known Alicia Fox Was Intoxicated Prior To Incident That Led To His Firing

It was previously reported that Arn Anderson was fired from the WWE after an incident in which he reportedly allowed Alicia Fox to wrestle at a live event while she was intoxicated. That led to an argument with Vince McMahon and his dismissal from the company. It was said to be the “final straw” for Anderson as far as McMahon was concerned.
In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that the belief backstage is that Anderson didn’t actually know that Fox was intoxicated prior to letting her wrestle at the live event. He confirmed previous reports that many of the talent backstage have sided with Anderson after his firing. He said that according to people “in the midst of it, ‘Arn did nothing wrong.'”
The belief is that Fox was no different than usual, so there was no reason Anderson wouldn’t have noticed that she was under the influence of anything. Since Anderson was on “thin ice for a long time” and John Cena wasn’t there, that is what likely led to his firing. It’s possible that if Cena were there, Anderson wouldn’t have been fired.
