Arn Anderson Explains The Value Of Bobby Heenan As A Manager

Arn Anderson is widely regarded as one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time, most notably as a founding member of The Four Horsemen. When he and Tully Blanchard jumped to the WWE in 1988, they were immediately paired with Bobby Heenan.
On the latest episode of The ARN Show, Anderson was asked about his original WWE run. He spoke about whether he wished he had a singles run during that time. You can check out some highlights below:
On Being More Of a Tag Team Player:
“Well, I personally think I had more value as a tag team guy. Just thought in those terms that I could do more in that role than actually being in a single[s] match. Not that I was uncomfortable working singles. I just prefer tags and my thought process — utilizing a referee, utilizing a manager. Just easier for me to think in those terms.”
On Working With Bobby Heenan As the Brain Busters:
“It gave us real credibility right away, because he was the top manager. You know, plus he was an on-air personality. It just made us right away have that top guy, ‘these guys are going to be stars’ [feel]. When Bobby Heenan brings you to the ring and introduces you to the world, you’re going to be done pretty well. And we were used well.”
