On the latest episode of The ARN Show, Arn Anderson got reflective about how a guy with his background and look reached the top of the business, crediting hard work and professionalism. Anderson was of course a core part of the Four Horsemen and became one of the most respected figures in the business. You can check out his comments below:

On His Career:

“Aa guy like me, to be honest with you — from where I started and where I came from, my background and life itself, I shouldn’t have been there in that position. Most people would look at me and go, ‘Well, how did he make it? How did he get there?’ It was — dare I say, just work your ass off, do the best you can, learn your craft. Be a good businessman, be a good employee, and be a good talent. You’re not going to have a great body. You’re not going to be over the top as far as marketing. But there’s a spot for a guy like me, and that’s what I held on to. That’s the reason I kept going back out there, even though I was hurt and it was steadily getting worse and worse. You don’t want to give up that spot.”

On Working Injured:

“It was just a different mentality in those days. You try to protect an injury. You try to get around it and work around it, just because that’s the way the mentality was back then. But I could tell it was getting worse little by little. You’ve got a family to take care of, so you grit your teeth and get through it, thinking, ‘I’ve come back from two other injuries, neck-related — maybe I can come back from this one too.’ You’ve got to have a positive attitude.”
