The Babes of Wrath Overcome Mercedes Mone & Athena, Retain Titles at AEW Worlds End 2025

The inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, the Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale), were looking to cement their newly won titles tonight at AEW Worlds 2025. They faced their former tournament rivals in reigning TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and ROH Women’s World Champion Athena.

However, despite a game performance, Mone and Athena certainly felt the wrath tonight in the champs’ first title defense. The finish came after Mone and Athena hit Nightingale with a double-team Superplex/Powerbomb combo. Mone then took out Cameron. However, the Babes of Wrath countered another Powerbomb, and Willow was able to roll Mone up with a modified prawn hold.

That was enough to score the pinfall victory for the Babes of Wrath, who now get to end their year as the first AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions. They won the belts earlier this month, beating the Timeless Love Bombs in the tournament finals to become the champions.

After the match, Athena appeared visibly upset and frustrated with her dejected tag team partner. Mone’s run of bad luck in title bouts continues, as she recently lost her RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Title to Alex Windsor at the AEW Collision Holiday Bash show. Additionally, she lost her AEW Women’s World Title challenge against champ Kris Statlander last month at AEW Full Gear 2025.
