Backstage Note on Elayna Black Potentially Joining AEW

Before signing with WWE, Elayna Black wrestled multiple matches on AEW Dark in 2020 under her real name Brianna Coda. Elayna Black is currently signed to the TNA Wrestling roster and competes in the Knockouts division. However, in the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked if it was possible for Black to make a return to AEW.

Sapp referenced how Black spoke about being open to joining AEW last year before she ultimately signed with TNA. Despite her comments on The Ariel Helwani Show, Sapp says that he never heard of any overtures between her and AEW in the time between her WWE release and TNA signing.

Although there were some claims that she skipped extra work in AEW for a WWE tryout, Sapp says that a source in AEW said there was no issue stemming from that.

For now, Black still competes in TNA Wrestling. She recently worked the iMPACT! TV tapings in Dothan, Alabama earlier this month. She also competed in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at TNA Bound For Glory 2026.
