Backstage Notes From TNA Impact On AMC: Dixie Carter’s Cameo, World Title Match, Content Creators

A new report has some backstage details on last night’s TNA Impact premiere on AMC including Dixie Carter’s appearance, a note on the World Title match and more. As noted, last night’s show kicked off the company’s run on AMC and there were several big moments in the show. That includes the former TNA president appearing, Mike Santana winning the World Title and the presence of several content creators.

While most probably already assumed this, Fightful Select makes clear that Carter’s appearance was simply a cameo and not an indication of anything greater. Carter was introduced by Carlos Silva and cut a quick promo thanking TNA fans for their support over the years. She got booed by a large segment of the audience when she first came out. Fightful notes that Carter has had a positive relationship with TNA for a while.

In regard to the World Championship match, there were people online speculating that one of the late nearfalls was a ref botch. Santana hit Spin the Block on Kazarian late in the match and Kazarian kicked out at the last moment, which was always the plan. Santana ultimately defeated Kazarian soon after to reclaim the championship that he lost to Kazarian in November.

Finally, the site notes that the content creators shown on Impact have specified that they were invited to the show but were responsible for paying for their own travel and lodging.
