Backstage Rumor on Sold Out UFC 261 Being Major Topic With Talent at Last Night’s Raw
– According to a report by WrestleVotes from earlier today, Saturday’s UFC 261 was a “major topic” of discussion backstage at last night’s edition of Raw. UFC 261 on Saturday was held at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday. The show featured a sold out, packed crowd of live, ticketed fans.
WrestleVotes noted that while not many Superstars were advocating for 100% full capacity as UFC’s card was last week, “nearly everyone” felt that live crowds could be returning in some form to WWE soon. Besides this month’s WrestleMania 37, WWE has not yet announced any plans to have live, ticketed fans at regular weekly WWE programming or pay-per-view events such as Raw or SmackDown.
Currently, WWE has set up its latest residency with the ThunderDome at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. During last week’s WWE Q1 earnings call, WWE officials voiced their hopes to return to full live touring for the promotion for the second half of 2021. How and when that will actually happen remains to be seen.
A major topic last night backstage at RAW was the packed house over the weekend at the UFC PPV. While not many superstars are advocating for 100% capacity, nearly everyone feels as tho live crowds could return in some form at this time.
