– During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Previously, WWE announced that a tournament would be held later on to crown new champions after former champs Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out of WWE Raw last week.

According to Meltzer, the tournament for the vacant titles is still being planned, and “There are pitches that have been made.” Meltzer added that the tournament will likely consist of four teams, with Nikki ASH and Doudrop as one of the teams, as well as the team of Natalya and Shayna Baszler.

Meltzer continued that there are several different options for the other two teams, including a potential reunion between former champions Carmella and Zelina Vega, despite the fact that they split up last month.

Meltzer also noted that “nothing is finalized” for the tournament plans yet. WWE has not yet announced when the tournament will take place, or who the competing teams will be.
