Bayley Wins Women’s Intercontinental Title Shot In Gauntlet Match On WWE Raw

Bayley is the new #1 contender to the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, winning a title shot on this week’s WWE Raw. Monday night’s show featured a gauntlet match for the #1 contendership as Bayley, Asuka, Ivy Nile, IYO SKY, Lyra Valkyria, and Raquel Rodriguez all did battle — or rather, did battle one at a time.

Valkyria and SKY kicked off the match, going six minutes before SKY got the pinfall with her Over the Moonsault. Raquel Rodriguez was next and fell to an inside cradle in about three and a half minutes. Rodriguez assaulted SKY after the match and Nile came in for the quick pin on SKY.

Bayley was next and was able to put Nile away after around seven minutes. That left Asuka, and the two battled for nearly six minutes. Asuka had the Asuka Lock hooked in toward the end of the match, but Bayley was able to escape and hit the Rose Plant for the victory. You can see highlights from the match below.

Bayley will challenge AJ Lee for the championship at on the March 16th episode of Raw. That show takes place at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Lee defeated Becky Lynch to capture the title at WWE Elimination Chamber.
