During a recent interview with Dominic DeAngelo for Studio 1 Sports, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart spoke about wrestling the late WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall (aka Razor Ramon) in WWE. Hart explained that he found Hall’s finishing move, the Razor’s Edge, way too dangerous, and he refused to ever take the finisher.
Bret Hart stated on Scott Hall (via WrestlingNews.co), “His finish where he would do that, what we call the Razor’s Edge, and he would pick you up and drop you on your head. I remember I go, nobody is doing that to me, ever. I don’t care. And I would stand by that today.”
Hart recalled how Hall would try to reason that he would set him down using the move. He continued, “He goes, ‘Oh, don’t worry, I’ll set you down.’ I’m like, ‘Not on my f-ing head you’re not. No way. There’s no f-ing way. You’re 6’6 or something. You’re gonna fall backwards with me. The first thing that hits the ground is my head and my upper back.’ I said this doesn’t make any sense. It’s too dangerous, too stupid of a move for me to do. And I refused to do it, period.”
Hart and Hall faced off in two singles matches at WWE pay-per-view events in 1993. First, Hart successfully defended the WWE Championship against Ramon at the 1993 Royal Rumble. They faced off once more at King of the Ring 1993 in an opening round match in the tournament.
Hall passed away in 2022 at 63 years old. Hall was twice inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame before his passing. First, he was inducted individually as Razor Ramon in 2014. He was later inducted once more as part of the Class of 2020 with the New World Order (nWo).
