Chris Jericho and Tony Khan Praise Independent Wrestlers That Worked Last Night’s AEW Dynamite
AEW used two independent wrestlers for last night’s episode of Dynamite, with Brodie Lee beating Lee Johnson and Lance Archer squashing Alan Angels (Trey Tucker). Both AEW President Tony Khan and Chris Jericho praised the two on social media.
Angels worked for ROH and WWN Live and was billed from Snellvile, Georgia, less than half an hour from Norcross, where Dynamite was taped. He was trained by AR Fox.
Angels wrote on Twitter: “Although I wasn’t victorious, I got an opportunity to compete on @AEWonTN I very much appreciate it. If you told 8 year old me that one day I’d be on TV wrestling he’d be the happiest little kid. A little light in these dark times.”
Jericho replied: “Congrats kid. Keep on pushing….”
Angels wrote back: “Always! Thank you the beautiful play-by-play!”
QT Marshall also chimed in. He wrote: “You have a long way to go in wrestling, but you are on the right path! Promoters out there, keep @Alan_Angels_ fresh in your mind when things get back to normal!”
Congrats kid. Keep on pushing…. https://t.co/nuUMW87TXq

Lee Johnson, meanwhile, was trained by QT Marshall, who defeated him on this week’s episode of Dark. He was also trained by AR Fox. He has worked for IWA-MS, AIW and WWN before.
Brodie Lee wrote of their match: “Guess I get to keep the Lee….”
Khan replied: “Thank you for leaving something of Lee Johnson. He’s a promising up-and-comer, I’m glad there’s something left of him. #AEW Dynamite”
