Ciocco’s AEW Dynamite Review 10.22.25

SICKOS! It’s Wednesday, you know what that means! AEW Dynamite is LIVE tonight from San Antonio, Texas, and tonight marks the Fall-Out from the events of Saturday’s WrestleDream!

In the wake of the events that followed after the AEW Men’s World Title match, the newly minted heel Trios’ Champions the Opps will defend their titles against The Hurt Syndicate. As a result of Bandido pinning Kazuchika Okada in their World Tag Team Title match, Okada will now put his AEW Unified Title on the line against Bandido, who already is co-holder of the Tag Titles as well as Ring of Honor World Champion. In what could be a preview for tonight’s announcement of the long-awaited Women’s Tag Team title belts, there will be a chaotic 4-team challenge, as Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford, Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata, Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale, and Skye Blue and Julia Hart will all thrown down in the same ring. Monocles are SURE to explode!

After defeating my future Ex-Wife at WrestleDream and earning the Interim ROH Women’s TV Title, Mercedes Mone will have a celebration for her 1,200 titles that she now has, and as previously mentioned, we will get the brackets for the long-awaited Women’s World Tag Team Titles and learn when they begin. All of this and, as we can always expect, so much more in store!

So, how are the SICKOS doing tonight? I’m fairly happy with the Eagles and Flyers as of late, and I am interested in what to expect from the Pacers this season. Also, I have been cleaning out my music, removing stuff that I thought I liked but in reality, I added just to add it lol.

So, with all of that out of the way, let’s get ready to make the Dynamite go BOOM!

MJFImage Credit: Follow the Revolution – FTR on Facebook. I kind of hope that, when MJF does return, he looks like the long-lost brother of Jack Perry LOL

Dynamite is LIVE tonight from the Boeing Center in San Antonio, Texas, the home of one of my all-time favorite wrestlers, the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Micheals! Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Bryan Danielson will have the action for us tonight.

We kind of get the intro song from Sum-41, so I am kind of happy lol.

Excalibur runs down tonight’s card. Wheeler Yuta looks like someone is pinching his sheep balls in that graphic for the Death Riders lol.

We get highlights from WrestleDream on Saturday.

Cameras caught up to the World Champion last Saturday. He has a trainer working on his shoulder as he yells and screams. He warned Joe, when he finds him, he is going to ruin his fucking life!

Well, there, Joe isn’t too hard to find after all!

AEW World Trios’ Titles: The Opps (C) vs. The Hurt Syndicate

The Opps came out the heel side of the stage; Roberts values his life and doesn’t annunciate SAMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA anymore.

Shibata and Benjamin start us off. Shibata with the very HEEL side headlock, Benjamin sends him off, but a shoulder tackle goes nowhere. Another side headlock by Shibata, Shelton counters with the ankle lock, but Shibata counters that and scores a two on a roll up. Benjamin runs through Shibata and tags in Lashley. Hobbs tells Shibata to tag him in, so he does.

But Joe has other ideas, as Joe tags himself in and covers up the chest of Hobbs. No meat here LMAO! Lashley floors Joe, sends him to the corner, but Joe counters and sends Bobby across the ring. Lashley with a flatliner to Joe followed with a hammer throw. Benjamin tags in, he goes to the top, Joe does the NOPE spot, but like a cat, Shelton lands on his feet. This flusters Joe so much that he tags in Hobbs lol. Hobbs throws Shelton out of the ring, so everyone comes and goes as they please. It ends the way it should have, as Hobbs hits the power slam on Benjamin. Joe follows that up with the running senton back splash as we hit our first commercial break.

Shibata is wrecking Benjamin in the corner as we return from break. Shibata tags in Joe, as he laces trash talk with straight punches to the face of Shelton. Joe with a snapmare into a headlock on Benjamin. Shelton tries to get to the ropes, but Joe losses his mind and kicks at him. Hobbs sneaks in a cheap shot while Ref Aubrey admonishes Joe. Shelton to his feet, he temporarily wins a strike battle with Joe, but Joe ends that. He can’t end Shelton hitting him with a DDT, though.

Lashley and Shibata in the match now. Belly-to-Belly from Bobby followed by a swinging neck breaker. Bobby knocks Hobbs off the apron and hits a powerbomb to Shibata. The cover, but Hobbs breaks it up. He pushes Shibata out of the way, drops his straps, and we finally have that MEAT battle Joe was trying to prevent. Lashley tries the Hurt Lock, but Hobbs backs Bobby into the corner. Both men hit lariats, Shibata sneaks back in (he is legal) and hits the PK on Lashley! The cover, Bobby kicks out at two.

For the first time, MVP is in the match with Joe. Joe goes for the eyes, MVP with a thrust chop to the throat, knocking Joe down. MVP backs up, comes forward, BALLING elbow! The cover, Shibata saves the match. Everyone comes in. MVP counters the Coquina Clutch, looking Playmaker, but Ricochet is here! He distracts MVP long enough for Joe to put the Clutch back on, and MVP taps out.
WINNER: The Opps (Still Champs)
TIME: 12:30
THOUGHTS: Standard big man match. Definitely not bad, but it didn’t feel like there was a threat of a title change since it opened the show.
RATING: ***1/4

Post-match, THS leave and give chase to The Demand up the ramp. Tony Schiavone is in the ring. The fans want to know why you did what you did to Hangman Page!

Joe takes the mic. First of all, he wants to say what a pleasure it is to be in San Antonio tonight. Because when you have a man like Hobbs around, it’s nice having these fat women around.

(Charles Barkley zinger lol)

Now, on to the question, why Joe why? Because he exists! As long as you are on Planet Earth and you are a champion, he will be there. As long as you stride this Earth and think you are the best, Joe is waiting to show you that you are NOT that man. And much like these people say, Hangman Page, you might think this is some Cowboy Shit, but just like every slack jawed Cowboys, he will smack you and make you his bitch just like every team in Texas has been bitched out

Me: Word, Joeseph of Samoa America

As long as the Opps are standing, they are never lacking, concludes Joe, as he drops the mic and the Opps take their leave.

We see a bunch of dudes arrive with Mone’s titles and we see Mone getting out of a very cool car.

Renee Paquette has GJ’s dream woman, Kris Statlander in the back. Kris says there isn’t anyone else she would rather have stripped with, went to war with, and defended the title against than Toni Storm. She doesn’t care about Mone’s title celebration. Has Mone defeated Storm twice? Kris has. And Kris is not the same woman that she defeated before. She broke the glass ceiling and rewrote the record books. Mone and Statlander at Full Gear, she accepts. Now, enjoy your celebration, champ.

COMMERCIALS!

The Darbster, Darby Allin is here after commercials. He may have fell, for you, but he didn’t quit at WrestleDream! Darby has his AEW flag, as he lays it down in the middle of the ring over top of the AEW logo on the canvas. Darby has the mic.

Before he climbed Mount Everest, he was told he was irresponsible and could never be the face of the company. He would get himself killed, and it would be bad PR. But he argues that he is willing to go to places for this company, and he would die for this company! The marks on my body tell a story from Saturday. He was never going to say he quit, but Jon did. He is wearing his scars today. But he isn’t stupid, he knows the Death Riders aren’t going anywhere. As long as the Death Riders are breathing, Darby Allin isn’t far behind.

He drops the mic, grabs his flag, and he exits the ring.

We see The Jurassic Express after their win on Saturday. Jack Perry says he hasn’t had a match this competitive since last year. They beat a legendary team. Everyone wants to know, why this, and why now? They want to reclaim everything they lost and claim everything they are owed. They are coming for their world tag team titles from whoever is holding them.

Time for those monocles, my good men!

Four corners tag team match: Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs. Julia Hart and Skye Blue vs. Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron vs. Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata

Willow and Skye start us off. Willow with a hair Beal, as she takes her to Harley and tags her in. Sidewalk slam by Willow, as she does some dance moves with Harley! She slams Cameron onto Skye, who kicks out before two. Harley with some kicks, but she misses the enziguri, and Blue with the thrust kick for a two count. Ford tags into the match, as she argues with Blue. Cameron uses this time to attack and hits some strikes to the gut. But Ford reverses it and drives Cameron to her corner and tags in Bayne.

Ford and Bayne try a double team suplex, but Willow comes in and cuts that off. Fighting ensues on the floor, as Hayter tags in to oppose Bayne! Jamie kicks Ford from the apron first and peppers Bayne with forearms. She tries a suplex, but Bayne won’t budge. Jamie abandons ship and takes Bayne to her corner and tags in Aminata. Bayne sends Hayter and Aminata from the ring. Bayne with a tope suicida in conjunction with Ford hitting a moonsault, wiping out everyone on the floor! Commercial time!

Hart walks the top ropes and comes down on Aminta’s shoulder as we return from break. Blue tags in, Aminata fights off both Sisters of Sin, and Aminata tags in Willow. Jamie is like WTF, as Willow stacks up both SOS and hits a lariat. High stack spinebuster from Willow to Skye! The cover, two count! HARLEY, screams Willow, as Cameron comes in with a kick and an enziguri to Blue. Ford tags in, she drags Blue to her corner and forces Skye to tag in Bayne. Bayne propels Ford into a cutter on Willow! The SOS are back in, but Ford with a stunner to both girls, AND MEGAN SUPLEXES BOTH SKYE AND JULIA! Megan has Willow on her shoulders, but the Doomsday Device is avoided. Jamie gets the blind tag on Willow, and the Queen and Jamie send her from the ring. Both ladies work over Ford, headbutt from the Queen into a Hayterade from Jamie for the win!
WINNER: Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata
TIME: 9:35
THOUGHTS: Surprised by the winners, for sure, considering they had the least amount of chemistry of the teams. Still a dandy, though!
RATING: ********

Post-match, Jamie has the mic. Isn’t tag team wrestling grand? Why wait to make our selection? Sisters of Sin, you have been a pain in our ass, and we’re going to take care of you first!

Well, that settles it!

In the back, we see the Broke Bucks knocking on the door of Tony Khan. Nick says he is desperate lol. Renee shows up, and The Bucks say they are desperate and they will wrestle anyone and team up with anyone.

Khan comes out of his office. He says he has heard they will face anyone, so he is putting up 400,000 dollars in an all-star tag team match. This Saturday, it will be Jurassic Express team with Jet Speed to take on The Young Bucks and FTR!

FTR and Stoke emerge from Tony’s office. Nick says that everything is water under the bridge. Stoke takes out a dollar bill, gives it to Matt, and says they need this more than they do. LMAO!

COMMERCIALS!

The ring is decorated, and Renee is in the ring, that can only mean one thing! This past weekend, Mone became the longest reigning TBS Champion of all-time. How did she celebrate? She competed in CMLL on Friday, she defeated Mina Shirakawa at WrestleDream, and then went to Winnipeg on Sunday, where she won her 12th Title! Renee introduces Mercedes Mone!

The men come out with the titles, but we hear a squealy voice. IT’S PUPPET MONE! She loves this celebration! She says bad things come in threes. She wants Renee to shake her hips as the music plays!

The real Mone is here, in buzzkill mode. She tells the guys to go to the back. Mone enters the ring and tells Renee to get out. Harley, what the hell do you think you are doing? You stupid, dumb marks. You want to mock me after what I did for women’s wrestling. Puppet Mone reenforces what she said LOL!

Harley, you are so pathetic. Wasn’t it just a couple of weeks ago you begged me to be your tag team partner, now you are out here mocking me? Tonight is about me! This is my moment; this is my celebration. What I have done, becoming 12-Belts Mone, is going to go down as one of the greatest accomplishments in professional wrestling. Ultimo Mone is going to be talked about for years to come, but you stupid, pathetic marks want to laugh at me? She is tired of the disrespect, so if you want to laugh at something, Harley, laugh at this!

She shoves Puppe Mone’s face into the cake! That bitch! Harley appears from under the ring, and she is going to put Harley into the cake, but we see Mone elevated. Kris Statlander is here! She shoves Mone face first into the cake and then hits a spinebuster to Mone through the table!

We revisit the I Quit match from WrestleDream. Moxley cut a promo after the show. He says Darby won with his strength, but one day, that is going to be his downfall. There is no one that does what he does, that do what the Death Riders do. Moxley knows exactly who he is, and what he has to do.

Man, I LOVE that new Conglomeration entrance video! It’s like the opening to Family Matters, or Step-By-Step, or (insert other 80’s and 90’s sitcom here).

Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly

The bell rings, as Moxley circles O’Reilly. HE’S A QUITTER chants from the crowd. Early chain wrestling, KOR with an arm drag, and Moxley paces the ring some more. KOR looking for a knee bar, Moxley backs himself up to the ropes and shoves Kyle.

Lockup, Moxley with knees to the gut, KOR turns the tables and hits his own knees, followed by a rope break. Moxley tries to kneecap O’Reilly, but KOR grabs wrist control, and takes Jon to the mat. KOR looking hammerlock, but Moxley reverses with a crossarm breaker. KOR gets out and applies a hammerlock proper. Moxley rolls up Kyle to escape the hold as we reset.

O’Reilly with a flying arm bar! Moxley steps through the hold and stomps on the face of O’Reilly. Jon with chops and a headbutt. O’Reilly with kicks of his own, but Moxley stops him and attempts to eat his face. He shoves Kyle out of the ring, we see Marina looking around the corner, and we head out for commercials.

O’Reilly low bridges Moxley to the floor as we return from break. Moxley grabs a chair, he sets it up and sits down. That only plays into Kyle’s missile drop kick from the apron. Kyle returns Jon to the ring. as kicks and forearms ensue. Kyle ducks Jon’s strikes and continues with the low kicks. Leg sweep by O’Reilly, as Moxley retreats to the corner. Running forearm by Kyle and standing guillotine. Kyle gets Jon to the mat, where he locks in the triangle. Moxley gets Kyle under the bottom rope and catapults him into the bottom rope to break the hold.

Both men are on the apron now. O’Reilly grabs the arm of Jon and snaps him down to the mat! Kyle goes to the top rope; knee drop from the top! Kyle with the ankle lock, but he abandons ship and hits another knee strike to the back of the head! The cover, two count. Moxley tries a triangle, but Kyle escapes and applies the cross-arm breaker! Moxley fights it off and hits the King Kong lariat! Stalling piledriver by Jon! The cover, KOR out at two! Bulldog Choke from Moxley! Kyle backs up and gets his foot on the bottom rope. Moxley tries the curb stomp, but Kyle moves and proceeds to fight back. Arm snap, rolling elbow, but he eats a Moxley boot. He recoils and takes down Moxley. Ankle lock! Moxley to his feet, he punches the ref!
WINNER: Kyle O’Reilly via DQ
TIME: 11:55
THOUGHTS: I would say that, ordinarily, a result like this proves lame. However, while Kyle does win the match, it protects Moxley, who played as if he was still gun shy from his loss to Darby at WrestleDream. And I liked the story telling of that throughout, and Danielson driving home that point on commentary.
RATING: ***1/4

Post-match, we see the Death Riders, Conglomeration, and refs in the ring trying to bring some kind of order to this cluster. The 6-man match is up next.

COMMERCIALS!

The Death Riders vs. The Conglomeration

Yuta and Cassidy will start us off, as Excalibur and Danielson wax poetic about Yuta betraying his mentors/trainers. Roll-ups and pins are traded by Yuta and Cassidy. OC fakes out Yuta with the Orange Punch, as Yuta begs off lol. Yuta tags in Garcia, as Cassidy goes to put his hands in his pockets. Garcia prevents this, he wrestles Cassidy to the ground and then poses. Briscoe tags in, as he shoves Garcia, and vice versa. Briscoe takes down Garcia and hits a knee strike to the back of the head. Cassidy wants the tag, but Strong tags in instead, while Garcia escapes and tags in Claudio.

Strong takes Claudio to the corner with strikes. Claudio fights him off, but Strong charges the DR corner and knocks Yuta and Garcia to the floor. Claudio has the ref distracted, as Yuta eats a backbreaker on the barricade. He tries the baseball slide to Claudio. Claudio catches him, but Roddy is able to fight him off. He tries it again and is successful a second time. Roddy also gives Claudio a backbreaker on the barricade. Yuta drags Roddy off the apron, allowing Claudio to drop Strong throat first on top of the barricade. Commercial break.

Garcia has a headlock on Strong as we return from break. Strong, however, escapes and looks for a tag. Claudio tags in, though, and hits a gut wrench to Roddy. Claudio sends Briscoe from the ring apron and stares a hole through OC. Strong with an Angle Slam to Claudio! Strong goes to his corner, shrugs his shoulders, and tags in OC lol.

OC sends Yuta and Garcia out to the floor. He feigns flying, but he stops and puts his hands in his pockets! Double dropkick to both men! Claudio is back with a thunderous slap to OC! Stun Dog Millionaire counter by OC as he hits the suicide dive to Garcia on the floor! Briscoe is back; he fights off Yuta and hits an enziguri to Claudio. Briscoe to the apron, he ducks and jives around Yuta and throws him down by his hair. He climbs to the top and hits a moonsault onto all three Death Riders!

Briscoe returns Yuta to the ring and hits a Fisherman’s Buster! The cover, Yuta kicks out at two. Mark thinking Jay Driller. Garcia comes in and throws on a guillotine. Sick kick by Roddy! Front face suplex by Claudio! Claudio intercepts OC with an uppercut! Big boot to Claudio from Briscoe. German Suplex by Yuta to Briscoe. Busaiku Knee by Yuta! The cover, Strong breaks up the pin! Yuta with the hammer and anvil elbows to Briscoe! Briscoe to his feet, kick to the gut, Yuta escapes but runs into the lariat. JAY DRILLER! Briscoe wins it for the Conglomeration!
WINNER: The Conglomeration
TIME: 12:50
THOUGHTS: A decent enough match. I was more interested in Roddy’s interaction with Cassidy, as it’s been put in plain sight that he is not a fan of the Conglomeration, but he worked well with them here.
RATING: ***1/4

The winners can’t celebrate, as PAC is here, as he attacks Briscoe. Big Tom is here, and he goes after PAC! Moxley is back, and he distracts Ishii long enough for Marina to hit Ishii in the ding-ding. KOR is back, but he is subdued by the Death Riders. Claudio goes to launch OC onto the announce table, but Darby Allin is here! he hits Claudio in the back of the knee and OC punches Claudio, as he falls out of the ring.

Alicia Atout is in the back. She wants a word with Mone, who is still covered in cake and is screaming. Athena is here! She says she doesn’t know what Ulitmo Mone is, but she proposes teaming up with Mone and going after the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Mone says she likes the sound of that, she could become 13-Belt Mone. Athena says it is time to go do minion training, and Mone says oh hell no lol.

The main event is up next. But, before we get there, Don Callis and the Protostar, Kyle Fletcher, are out first! FUCK DON CALLIS chants, so Kyle hugs Don lol. San Antiono, say my full name! See, at WrestleDream, I defended my title for the sixth time in a matter of months. And I did so by putting down one of my biggest rivals to date, Mark Briscoe. The tally might read three wins for Kyle, and two for Mark, but this isn’t going to be a back and forward. He proved that he has Mark’s number. He could face him a million more times, and he will defeat him a million times over. This proves that he will be the TNT Champion for a Very.

Very…

VeRy…

VERY…

REACH FOR THE SKY, BOY! Mark is back, and he has a mic. He says as Kyle gets older, you will learn that you don’t always have to run your mouth. He picked up the win tonight and was going to leave, until he heard Kyle talking some mad shit. The hell with a million more times, all Briscoe needs is one more shot. He’s been icing his balls all weekend, he tells us lol.

Don says has something to say to Mark. He is a great wrestler and a great athlete. You know I have respect for your ability. But, buddy, you are sounding desperate here. You have, what, ten kids at home? When you have that many kids, that isn’t a family, that’s a financial burden. You need a family like the Don Callis Family. We support each other, and don’t leech everything from you. He isn’t going to tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear.

NO!

Callis leaves the ring, Fletcher and Briscoe come face-to-face, and we’re heading out for commercial break.

FINALLY! The brackets for the Women’s Tag Team Titles are here! And our matches are going to be:

Queen Aminata & Jamie Hayter vs. Julia Hart and Skye Blue
Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron vs. Mercedes Mone and Athena
Alex Windsor and Riho vs. Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa
Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs. Tay Melo and Anna Jay

Renee has the love of my life, my future Ex-Wife, Mina Shirakawa! She says she hasn’t heard from Storm since Saturday, but she knows that she still has Storm in her life. They are now known as the Time Love Bombs!

Thekla is here to threaten Mina, and that simply will not do. Mina tells her to fight her on Collision. Thekla says if Toni is sad now, wait until she sees what she does to Mina this Saturday. Thekla leaves, Mina poses, and my heart explodes.

AEW Unified Title Match: Kazuchika Okada (C) vs. Bandido

The bell rings, as Danielson says he would love to get a vegan milkshake with anyone but Callis, and he suggests Don should get one with Yuta. LMAO!

Early lock-up, as Bandido takes Okada to the ropes and gives a clean break. Okada with a boot and shoulder tackle, but he kips right back up. He tries the military press, Okada escapes, but Bandido with the finger guns, and Okada takes a seat lol. Bandido with an arm drag, sending Okada to the floor. Bandido looks for a baseball slide, but Okada isn’t there. Bandido looks for him around the ring, but Okada is hiding out and kicks Bandido in the gut. Okada gets up close with Bandido’s family at ring side. He has Bandido by the arm, but Bandido with an arm drag from the apron! Commercial break.

The final break is over, as Okada goes to the top rope as we return. Falling elbow drop from the champion. And it’s time for the middle finger close-up pose! Rainmaker is countered, as Bandido runs to the corner and hits a tope cornio to Okada. Okada is expelled from the ring, as Bandido hits a tope suicida to Okada. Bandido does some posing in the ring, as he catches Okada with a dropkick. Bandido to the top, does the Eddie salute, Frog Splash connects! The cover, Okada kicks out at two.

Okada rolls out to the apron. Bandido approaches him, but Okada snaps the “bad shoulder” of Bandido over the top rope. Okada grabs Bandido off the mat by the bad shoulder, feigns the tombstone and instead hits a shoulder breaker. Bandido heads to the floor, he heads over to the timekeeper’s table, but Okada slides out of the ring and throws Bandido back into the ring. Okada thinking tombstone, but Bandido slides out. Okada counters by sliding out, but he runs right into possible offense from Bandido. Back fist from Bandido! X-Knee by Bandido! 21-Plex connects! Bandido is slow to cover Okada, allowing the champion to kick out at 2.5!

THIS IS AWESOME chants, as Bandido sits Okada on the top rope. Okada flips over Bandido, tries a powerbomb, but Bandido out the back and shoves Okada into the corner. Okada catches Bandido with the dropkick! Rainmaker, no, Bandido with a lariat! Bandido charges Okada in the corner, but he eats both of Okada’s boots. Rainmaker countered by Okada, BUT BANDIDO WITH HIS OWN RAINMAKER! Bandido has Okada up, X-Knee part II! 21-Plex, but Okada wasn’t close enough to the ropes! Okada snatches up Bandido, RAINMAKER! The cover, the champion retains!
WINNER: Kazuchika Okada
TIME: 14:20
THOUGHTS: You know, I saw one of those tweets on the screen during the match, saying now this is a main event. And damn if they weren’t right. This ruled ass, for sure! It almost got me going a few times that Okada was going to lose, but the Rainmaker was too much.
RATING: ****

Post-match, the entire Don Callis Family emerges to celebrate Okada’s win. Well, except for one man, as Konosuke Takeshita comes out on his own, with his IWGP World Title, as Callis goes up the ramp to keep him away from Okada.

And with that, we are done!

8.0
The final score: review Very Good
The 411
The Fall-Out from WrestleDream was a balanced show from both ends. While some of the matches, mainly the multi-men matches, were kind of paint by the numbers, the Women's 4-corner tag match, the main event, and the promos and mic work were all great. Special shoutout to the Mone celebration moment, and to the continuing great chemistry on commentary between Excalibur and Danielson, they had a blast tonight with zingers and witticisms.
