As previously reported, former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes revealed on the FLAGRANT podcast earlier this month that he’s signed a new deal with the promotion. During the conversation, Rhodes revealed that he’d end his pro-wrestling career in WWE and that he had just spoken to The New York Times about it.
The New York Times [via Fightful] has now published its feature piece, which notes that Cody Rhodes has signed a five-year deal with WWE.
“Rhodes recently signed a five-year contract extension with W.W.E., and Reigns wrestled at an event in New Orleans two days before the ‘Street Fighter’ premiere in Los Angeles,” the article noted.
Cody Rhodes is a three-time Undisputed WWE Champion. He returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and went on to capture his first WWE World Title from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. His latest reign was ended by Sami Zayn at Night of Champions this past June.
The American Nightmare is currently embroiled in a blood feud with Randy Orton, and the two are set to come face-to-face this Friday on SmackDown.
