Colten Gunn spent seven months out of action with his turn patella, but he says he was supposed to be out for nine. The Gunns made their return to AEW TV on the May 2nd episode of AEW Collision. It was Colten’s return from the injury that he suffered in July of 2025.
The Gunns were guests on What Happened When with Tony Schiavone, and during the conversation Colten looked back on his injury. He noted that he was cleared after seven months.
“I tore my patella, just from a regular routine jump,” Colten said (per per Fightful). “It was supposed to be nine months to a year before I could practice in the ring, but I went to physical therapy four times a week and stayed at it. Had my diet locked in, had my physical therapy, and I was back practicing at five and six months, and got cleared in seven months.”
He continued, “Now, I’m back. It feels pretty good. A little nervous at first, but got through it.”
Colten Gunn has been regularly active since his return, teaming with Austin and the rest of the Bang Bang Gang. They last teamed with Jay White in the World Trios Championship Roulette Royale at AEW All In.
