Damian Priest and R-Truth Earn WWE Tag Team Title Shot On WWE Smackdown

Damian Priest and R-Truth are teamed up and have a shot at the Tag Team Championships following this week’s WWE Smackdown. Friday night’s episode featured a Tag Team Turmoil match in which Priest and Truth teamed up to pick up the win, earning a shot at the tag team titles.

The two decided to team up earlier in the night during a backstage segment featuring Nick Aldis. Aldis told Priest that he had a match and R-Truth revealed that he was Priest’s partner. Priest said that winning tag team gold sounded good and they headed off together.

The two faced off against the Motor City Machine Guns, Fraxiom, Los Garza (Angel and Berto) vs. Joe Gacy and the Wyatt Sicks’ Dexter Lumis in the bout, which went 25 minutes. Priest and Truth were the final team out and faced off with Los Garza after the MFTs cost the Wyatt Sicks their chances to win the match. Priest and Truth ended the bout by hitting their finishes on Angel and Berto to get the victory.

Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga of The MFTs are the current WWE Tag Team Champions and have reigned for 43 days. You can see highlights from the match below.
