Former EVOLVE Women’s Champion Kendal Grey has taken giant strides in the world of professional wrestling in a relatively short period, thanks to her incredible in-ring skills.
Fans as well as wrestling experts have touted her as the next big thing. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio [via WrestlingNews.co], Dave Meltzer went one step ahead and claimed that Kendal Grey will end up as the best woman wrestler that the United States of America has ever produced. He also said that the NXT talent is “way better” than Mercedes Mone at the same stage.
Meltzer made the comment following Kendal’s match against Lola Vice on this week’s episode of NXT. The match didn’t have a conclusive finish, leading to a Triple Threat bout being announced for the NXT Women’s Title for Stand & Deliver.
According to Meltzer, the match showcased great amateur wrestling and MMA transitions. He also praised Grey’s level of skills, considering how inexperienced she is currently.
“She’s gonna be the best woman wrestler this country has ever produced. She’s way better than Mercedes was at the same stage. I’m not saying she’s going to be the biggest star, but in the ring, who’s even at her level of wrestling in the past, present, or future? There’s nobody,” he said.
Kendal Grey joined WWE via its NIL program in January 2023. She captured the EVOLVE Women’s Championship last year and went on to have a record-setting reign (150 days). The young superstar recently relinquished the championship following a successful defense against Tyra Mae Steele. She also won the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge last December.
