– During a recent interview with Birmingham Live, WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre discussed the passing of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ozzy Osbourne. Below are some highlights:
Drew McIntyre on Ozzy Osbourne: “Ozzy wasn’t just someone who kept me company on the road for long drives and workouts, he was part of the culture. I was over here in America when The Osbournes started to become popular and people started to become scared of lovable Ozzy. It was cool for me to see someone from Birmingham become such a giant name. He almost became a fictional character with the amount of lore and stories about him. It sucked when he passed because I thought he would live to be a few hundred years old and outlive us all.”
On watching footage of Ozzy’s final concert: “I was watching some of the clips this week from the concert and my wife kept looking over at me. I was just blown away by his performance and how his voice held through sickness and physical health. To perform that well live, he gave everybody that amazing last curtain call and checked out two weeks later. It’s a storybook ending. If someone wrote it as a movie, you probably wouldn’t believe it.”
The Black Sabbath frontman passed away last month at 76 years old due to a heart attack.
