Eddie Kingston will not be competing on this weekend’s AEW Collision after all, as he is not medically cleared to do so. Tony Khan announced in a live stream on Friday before ROH Death Before Dishonor that Kingson is not cleared and will not be able to faec Claudio Castagnoli in the quarterfinals of the Continental Challenge Cup as advertised.

Khan revealed that instead, Castagnoli will face the winner of a match between Adam Priest and Daniel Garcia that will take place at Death Before Dishonor.

There’s no word on what caused Eddie Kingston to not be medically cleared. He made his return to AEW TV on the August 8th episode of AEW Collision. Kingston was pulled from a scheduled match at C4 Wrestling’s benefit show last Friday, though it’s not clear whether that was for the same reason.

AEW Collision takes place on Saturday from Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania and airs live on TNT and HBO Max. It is the penultimate episode before AEW All In: London on August 30th.
