Backstage Details on Gisele Shaw Losing MLP Women’s Canadian Championship & Her NWA Deal

As noted, the National Wrestling Alliance announced that it had signed Gisele Shaw to an “exclusive” contract earlier this month. Shaw subsequently dropped the MLP Women’s Canadian Championship to Priscilla Kelly this past Wednesday on MLP Mayhem.
In this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON) [via F4WOnline], Dave Meltzer reported that Gisele Shaw was originally planned to hold the title until October. However, her contract with NWA does not allow her to work on TV shows for other promotions.
Meltzer also commented on Shaw’s split with MLP owner Scott D’Amore earlier this year and the timing of Shaw losing the title. He said that her dropping the championship has more to do with her deal with NWA than her split with D’Amore.
He noted that despite her split, D’More still booked Gisele strongly during the summer, adding that she was presented as the face of the company’s women’s division. It must be noted that Shaw lost the title to Kelly on the August 8th taping, which aired this past Wednesday. She did retain the championship against B3CCA at the August 15 TV taping. Shaw bid farewell to MLP with a social media post earlier this week.
Shaw is the reigning NWA World Women’s TV Champion. She captured the title from Sirena Veil in late July 2026.
