Gunther is competing for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam, and he recently spoke about what it would mean to win the title. Gunther challenges Damian Priest for the title on tomorrow’s PPV, and he spoke with Shakiel Mahjouri about how winning the title would be huge for him.
“It’d be the biggest achievement of my career,” Gunther said (per Fightful). “I think that’s quite obvious. It’s the world’s heavyweight champion. It’s the biggest prize there is to win in this sport. That would be a huge accomplishment but also a big responsibility and challenge.”
He continued, “That’s what I’m here for. I want to be in the mix with the best and in the ring with all of them. To prove myself in that regard.”
SummerSlam airs tomorrow live on Peacock and WWE Network.
