Hall’s AEW Collision Review – 11.7.26

Collision
Date: November 7, 2026
Location: Norwegian Jewel, Miami, Florida
Commentators: Paul Wight, Tony Schiavone, Nigel McGuinness

So we’re on a boat, which I’m assuming is about to set sail for the latest Chris Jericho cruise. Therefore, why not try Collision onboard the boat? I’ve heard weirder and far less cool concepts so maybe this winds up working. We’re also a week away from Full Gear so it’s time for the last big pushes. Let’s get to it.

Commentary runs down the card.

Chris Jericho vs. Blake Christian

Well yeah who else could open this show? Christian (with Jay Lethal) jumps him from behind to start as Jericho is in coveralls for some reason. Jericho takes off his coveralls to reveal…a taco cat themed outfit, which is I’m sure a reference I don’t understand. Christian kicks him outside for a slingshot dropkick through the ropes and we take a break.

We come back with Jericho hammering away in the corner and snapping off a super hurricanrana. Christian knocks him right back down and hits his own Lionsault for two. A nice head fake sets up a springboard 450 for two more and Jericho gets to chop away. The Walls attempt is blocked and Christian gets two off a small package. A Lethal Injection connects for the same but Jericho pulls a hurricanrana out of the air and into the Walls for the tap at 10:46.

Rating: B-. As usual, Christian is best used in spots like this as he can do his cool offense but not have to do anything important. Jericho already probably has to deal with a final match against Nick Wayne and I guess this counts as a similar opponent. Either way, this was just about getting Jericho in the ring on his cruise and that’s totally fine.

Nick Wayne is coming to Miami to brag about beating Chris Jericho.

Twice.

Here is New Level for a chat. Until this week, they didn’t have a problem with Bandido and they didn’t want to have this be a Texas Death Match. Then things changed, but they’re not scared of their opponents. They’re scared of what they have to become, so there is no problem with this. Next week, they are going to a new level. Good, serious stuff here.

FTR vs. Motor City Machine Guns

Match #4 in a best of five series, with the Guns up 2-1 and Stokely is here with FTR. Harwood and Shelley start things off with Shelley fighting out of the corner as everything breaks down. FTR gets the better of things with Harwood chopping away at Shelley on the floor. A dragon screw legwhip over the rope has Shelley in more trouble and Wheeler is fine with going after a bad limb. Shelley gets his bad knee, plus a good one, up to stop a Vader Bomb and it’s off to Sabin to clean house.

The tornado DDT is broken up so Sabin settles for two off a small package instead. Everything breaks down and Wheeler takes out Shelley’s knee again and we take a break. We come back with a spike piledriver dropping Sabin for two. A double DDT gets Sabin out of trouble though and the tag seems imminent, only for Shelley to be knocked off the apron.

Harwood misses the elbows though and it’s back to Shelley for the rapid fire chops in the corner. Everything breaks down again and Harwood pulls Shelley into a Sharpshooter. Sabin breaks that up and hurricanranas Wheeler out to the floor. Back in and it’s a Border City Stretch and STF at the same time, with FTR having to break both of them up. Shelley goes after Stokely though and gets rolled up with tights to give Harwood the pin at 14:41.

Rating: B+. These guys work very well together and it makes sense that the teams are going to be facing off one more time. This was more of a wild match rather than a standard tag match and it was still a blast. Just let it be a regular match, or at least one that doesn’t involve ladders, as the blowoff. As in let the wrestlers wrestle. It’s not that much to ask.

Nick Wayne vs. Marcus Mathers

Wayne stomps him down in the corner to start and shrugs off Mathers’ chops. A jumping elbow drops Mathers again as Wayne is looking rather comfortable. Mathers is able to send him outside for a kick to the chest and we take a break. We come back with Wayne slapping him in the corner and getting slammed down as Mathers is fired up. Wayne is able to catch him up top though and a top rope superplex sends Mathers crashing. Another comeback drops Wayne but he gets his feet up to block the 450. That means Wayne’s World can connect for the pin at 8:21.

Rating: B-. They were keeping this one shorter and more to the point of Wayne getting to look dominant, though Mathers did get in a few shots here and there. It made for a good match as Mathers looked promising (though not as much as in his very good match with Mark Davis on ROH) but Wayne is the star right now. Wayne has something and I’m curious to see where it goes.

Post match Wayne brags about beating Chris Jericho.

Twice.

Developmental wrestler Brady Booker is on Survivor. Ok then.

Death Riders vs. Shane Taylor Promotions

The Promotions jump them before the bell and it’s Bravo punching away at Moxley to start. Naturally Moxley shrugs that off and grabs a slam so it’s off to Kidd for a backsplash. Kidd’s headbutts in the corner have Bravo in trouble and Garcia comes in to hammer away. Taylor gets the tag and drops Moxley off the apron and we take a break.

We come back with Garcia muscling Taylor up for a belly to back suplex and getting the tag off to Moxley. Some biting to the face sets up the sleeper on Taylor, followed by the running corner clotheslines. Christyan XO offers a distraction though and it’s a reverse 3D to put Kidd down. Taylor’s middle rope splash gets two but Moxley is back in with the cutter. Kidd fisherman’s busters Bravo for the pin at 10:15.

Rating: B-. This has been the latest “here is Shane Taylor Promotions to put someone else over” and I’m sure they’ll be all big and serious in Ring Of Honor again. The match was little more than a way to keep the Death Riders warm on the way to their big showdown with the Cut. At least the match didn’t go long, because there was no reason to think the result would be anything else.

Post match Moxley is ready for more violence but here is Mercedes Mone to call out Marina Shafir. Mone promises to embarrass her again at Full Gear and wants Moxley to keep his “b****” on a leash. Moxley understands that Mone is a little messed up because Daniel Garcia is here (his mother has the same issues) but THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT KIND OF LANGUAGE! Cue Jay White and then the Cut as the Riders are beaten down again. The beatdown goes on for awhile, with Mone even getting in a boot to the head of her own.

We look at some classic AEW in Miami moments.

Persephone vs. Mina Shirakawa

Shirakawa takes Persephone down by the arm to start and trips her down, setting up a quickly broken chinlock. Back up and Persephone ducks a clothesline with a Matrix and sends Shirakawa to the apron. A Stunner over the rope cuts Persephone right back down but she drops Shirakawa onto the buckle.

We take a break and come back with Shirakawa hitting a Sling Blade into a discus forearm. Persephone’s neckbreaker gets two but Shirakawa dragon screws the leg again. A clothesline puts Persephone down and she counters a kick to the head into a suplex for two. Shirakawa is right back up with a top rope DDT for two of her own but Persephone goes after the referee for some reason. That’s enough for Shirakawa to get slammed off the top and the frog splash gives Persephone the pin at 11:15.

Rating: C+. I am trying so hard to care about Persephone and it’s just not clicking. She has a presence to her and the in-ring abilities are fine, but there is something that doesn’t work for her. She’s just kind of there most of the time and while I understand having her in the ring a lot, it’s not the most thrilling stuff.

Post match Persephone beats on her some more but Queen Aminata makes the save.

The Cut is mad as apparently Juice Robinson has been attacked. They find a fork, so they blame the Death Riders. I don’t like their detective work there. Even Tony Schiavone thinks he knows what’s going on.

Full Gear rundown.

The Don Callis Family are ready to win the Tag Team Titles.

National Title: Andrade El Idolo vs. Tommaso Ciampa

Ciampa is challenging and has Andrade’s leg checked, allowing him to get in a dropkick. Andrade is right back up to chop it out and get the better of things, followed by some suplexes. We take a break and come back with Andrade sunset bombing him for two. Ciampa charges into a powerbomb from the inside onto the ramp (commentary hasn’t seen that one either) but is fine enough to hit a Helluva Kick.

Andrade is so banged up that Ciampa starts taking off Andrade’s pants but the referee gets bumped. The DM connects for no count so Ciampa goes low and hits a running knee for the delayed two. A quick Dia de los Muertos gives Andrade two so he hits his own running knee for two more. Another DM is loaded up but Ciampa reverses into a rollup to win the title at 12:14.

Rating: B+. Ciampa having another good match is hardly a surprise as he’s done pretty much nothing else in AEW. It’s great to see Ciampa getting another title, as you don’t want him to lose over and over. They had a heck of a match here and it’s not like Andrade is going to be hurt by losing to a star via a rollup. Heck of a main event and this result was the best call.

Ciampa celebrates with his daughter to end the show.

The final score: review Very Good

The atmosphere boosted this up a nice bit, with the tag match and main event both being more than enough to carry things. It was a different enough show to keep me interested and Full Gear got enough attention. As they said in the cinematic classic Muppet Treasure Island, it’s a good life on a boat.
