Hiromu Takahashi Issues IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title Challenge For NJPW New Year Dash

Hiromu Takahashi has sent out a challenge to the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions for NJPW New Year Dash. As Fightful notes, Takahashi laid out the challenge in post-match comments after NJPW’s November 26th show. He is teaming with David Finlay in the NJPW World Tag League currently.

Takahashi said that the two of them will win the tournament and compete at Wrestle Kingdom 20 for the IWGP Tag Team Championship. However, he also laid out a challenge with Gedo to take on Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions SHO and DOUKI at New Year’s Dash. You can see the backstage promo below.

Hiromu Takahashi & Finlay are currently 2-2 in the World Tag League with four points. That puts them in second place in the B Block. SANADA & Ren Narita are in first place in the block with six points. The World Tag League kicked off on November 20th and concludes on December 15th.

NJPW New Year Dash takes place on January 5th in Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. It takes place the day after Wrestle Kingdom 20, which is being held at the Tokyo Dome.
