A woman who worked as an accountant for Hulk Hogan is facing federal charges after allegedly embezzling $890,000 from a “public figure.” The U.S. Attorneys for the Middle District of Florida issued an announcement last week that Melissia Gauthreaux has been indicted with six counts of wire fraud. The announcement noted that she allegedly stole over $890,000 from one of her clients, described as “a public figure who lived in the Middle District of Florida.” The alleged theft occurred between 2017 and 2021.
While Hogan is not mentioned in the announcement as the victim, TMZ Sports reports that Gauthreaux worked for Hogan during that time period and she did bookkeeping for him, among other duties.
The indictment notes that Gauthreaux was the founder, president, and managing member of Accounting Resources and Management Services, LLC. She is said to have had signatory authority on the victim’s bank accounts, and removed the fuds without said client’s knowledge or consent. She faces up to 20 years in federal prison on each count if convicted.
Hulk Hogan passed away in July of last year at the age of 71.
