Independent Wrestler Rob Rage Passes Away At 45

Rob Rage, who was a competitor on the independent wrestling scene in Ontario, has passed away. Slam Wrestling reports that Rage, aka Rob Thomason, passed on Saturday after suffering a cardiac arrest backstage at Hammering Cancer 4 fundraising show in Hamilton, Ontario. He was 45 years old.
According to the report, a person close to the matter said that Thomson suffered the cardiac arrest after coming back to the dressing room after his match at the show. Wrestlers performed CPR until medical responders arrived, but he was unable to be resuscitated and passed on the way to the hospital in an ambulance.
Thomson had competed for several promotions in the Ontario area for the past several years including Crossfire Wrestling, Classic Championship Wrestling, and Deathproof Wrestling. He was a bodybuilder who also occasionally competed as “Warrior Rage” in Road Warrior-esque makeup. Rage also portrayed Road Warrior Hawk, David Schultz, and Hulk Hogan in various Dark Side of the Ring episodes.
Thomson did some acting as well, including co-starring with Roddy Piper in The Masked Saint. He worked as a personal trainer and the Fitness Manager at a gym in Mississauga, Ontario.
