A potentially concerning update related to Jacob Fatu ahead of his high-stakes match at Clash in Italy. As noted previously, WWE kicked off its European Summer Tour with a live event in Liverpool, England, last night. Jacob Fatu also competed at the event, battling former stablemate Solo Sikoa in a Street Fight.
Even though The Samoan Werewolf came out victorious, Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that Fatu was seen limping after the bout. It’s not currently clear whether Fatu was selling or if it’s a legitimate injury.
Fatu is set for the biggest match of his WWE career this Sunday night. The former United States Champion will battle World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns in Tribal Combat.
Fatu failed to dethrone Roman as World Heavyweight Champion at Backlash: Tampa. Despite the defeat, Fatu stood tall that night, as he choked out Roman via the Tongan Death Grip.
On the subsequent episode of RAW, Jacob refused to acknowledge Roman as his Tribal Chief and laid down a vicious beating on Reigns and The Usos. Fatu was eventually taken down by the trio the following Monday, following which he challenged Roman to Tribal Combat at Clash in Italy.
During the contract-signing segment this past Monday night on RAW, Reigns made it clear that Fatu must “serve” him should he fail to defeat the champ on May 31.
