Jade Cargill on the Pressure She Felt Wrestling During the Pandemic

– During a recent interview with the Battleground Podcast, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill discussed wrestling during the COVID-19 pandemic in AEW. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):

On if the version of her in AEW imagined she would be where she is right now: “I wouldn’t think I would be here right now to be honest. I would think that I would still be where I was but I knew I was destined for great things. I know that I am the unicorn of wrestling right now and so, would I think that I’ll be in this position? No, but I knew I was destined for great things in this industry.”

On wrestling in front of the other wrestlers instead of fans during the pandemic: “Everybody knows everything so it was a little… I think it’s more nerve-wracking for me to perform in front of my co-workers rather than performing in front of fans. I love fans, I welcome fans and the European crowd was wow, I mean it was crazy.”

Jade Cargill faces Nia Jax in the next round of the Queen of the Ring tournament tomorrow night on WWE SmackDown. Tomorrow’s show is being held at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. It will be broadcast live on FOX starting at 8:00 pm EST.
