Jake Roberts Says Honky Tonk Man’s Guitar Shot Was The Worst Injury Of His Career

Jake Roberts recently recalled Honky Tonk Man’s infamous 1987 guitar shot on him as the worst injury of his entire career. Roberts spoke with Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo and was asked if the guitar shit, which happened a Snke Pit segment, was the worst injury he ever suffered and confirmed that, noting that the guitar was half an inch thick with fiberglass on top.

“Yes, that was my worst injury,” Roberts said (per Wrestling Inc).. “Definitely. Damn near killed me … [He hit me] with a solid one … It nearly killed me, man. My body went into shock immediately, and I just kind of floated around in a daze. I was still able to get up, move, but I was in a daze the whole time because my body went into shock when I got hit.”
