Jay White Gains Possession of G1 Title Shot Briefcase at Power Struggle

– There is a new holder for the G1 Climax briefcase. During today’s NJPW Power Struggle event, Jay White beat Kota Ibushi to gain possession of the briefcase, which Ibushi earned by winning the G1 Climax 30 tournament. This means that White is currently the No. 1 contender for the IWGP Heavyweight & Intercontinental titles, which are held at the moment by Tetsuya Naito.
By virtue of holding the briefcase, this means White is the scheduled challenger for Naito at WrestleKingdom 15 in January at the Tokyo Dome. Unless, White were to defend the briefcase and lose possession of it himself. Jay White commented on the victory over Twitter, which you can see below along with a highlight clip from today’s match.
Yep.
Told you.
