AEW veteran Jim Ross is opting to stay optimistic ahead of his brain surgery. As noted previously, Ross announced on his Grilling JR podcast last week that he is soon set to undergo brain surgery. The surgery will be done to remove excess fluid in Ross’ brain and help the veteran deal with memory and balance issues he’s been dealing with lately.
In this week’s edition of the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross revealed that his surgery is scheduled for August. However, he didn’t reveal the exact date. Notably, JR has spent extended time in the hospital in recent months due to suffering a couple of falls.
The legendary commentator believes he’s been diagnosed correctly and expresses optimism that the surgery will improve things for him. Here’s what Jim Ross said [per Wrestling Observer]:
“Yeah, that’s it. I’ll be ready to go [on when his surgery will take place]. Great. I’m just getting better every day,” Ross said. “My balance is still a little screwed up, but it’s getting better. So, you know, I’m just happy that I’m alive and I’m happy that I’ve been diagnosed correctly, I think. So let’s get it on.”
