John Cena Confirms ‘John Cena Classic’ for December 2026

More details about the John Cena Classic have been revealed. During an appearance on TODAY, John Cena revealed that the inaugural “John Cena Classic” will be held in December. Here’s what the 17-time World Champion said [via Fightful]:

“This year in December, I’m really excited about announcing the John Cena Classic. So we’re gonna do an event based off all the memory, ,all the nostalgia, the I.P., and the core values of the character, which is me: Hustle, loyalty, respect, perseverance, virtue, overcoming the odds, and giving the vote to the people. Our audience is gonna decide our champion that night, so it’s a really unique live event. I don’t even know if it’s gonna work. I’m still taking bold chances in the WWE space, and I’m proud to be helping the John Cena Classic.”

As noted, the former WWE Champion announced the tournament at WWE Backlash this past May. The winner of the tournament will be decided via a fan vote, implying that even if a wrestler loses their match, they can still be crowned the winner of the tournament.

WWE has a PLE scheduled for December, i.e., Wrestlepalooza: Perth on December 12. Media reports previously claimed that the promotion has set the same date for the inaugural tournament. Obviously, nothing is set in stone as of yet, and 411Mania will provide an update on the official date for the event as and when it’s available.
